Why is anybody staying here?

Ok? Unimportant company. And ....I'm so blocked.
apparently did not get around to harmonizing compensation; given published reports about the quality of some flash products wouldn't boast
If you are earning half a million as a Sr. Tech why do you even need to be a distinguished engineer. Being a distinguished engineer will just bring extra attention and responsibilities.
@2nqb+1p7USRNc
I wonder why he hasn't gotten promoted to a distinguished engineer.
seems far different than HDD comp
In my group the Sr. Technologist earns half a million dollars TC. I remember him saying his base was 320K. But tbh he deserves that as he is probably the best engineer in SanDisk period!!!
@2xlh+1p7USRNc
If you are director/sr technologist and not making $230k base at least, you may want to start looking. That's the base I got 3 yrs ago, and I didn't even negotiate.
@2oih+1p7USRNc you're numbers aren't close; move on and troll elsewhere
@2zge+1p7USRNc
How much do you think director level make in the US? The base is already $240k, and that's probably only the median. The bonus is 60% once the STI back
The guy making 360k a year in WD? GTFO liar
Bonus, RSU and 401k stopped long time ago for most of us
The only reason to stay is the job market ! Still challenging
I mean he's right... 220k base, 15% bonus, 55k RSU grants per year, and easy work. I'm thinking about getting a second job since this one takes all of 8 hours a week. It's easier to hide in the corporate crowd when they get off the short bus.
@bxh+1p7USRNc
Ok fair enough. It's actually $240k base plus $90k LTI from a month ago. The expectation is 60% STI and LTI combined, so hopefully I'll get $384k when the STI is back and LTI fully stacked.
late career marketability in the Bay Area diminishes-just the way it is-so it's easy stay
@kab+1p7USRNc sure your TC is $360k with limited-to-no STI and reduced LTI
@hon+1p7USRNc do not underestimate the transferability of the skills learned in this biz
I'm on a visa.
I moved to another company, which also does not grow , and have less experience. 🤔
That's why you stay.
Tell me a growing Tech which needs HDD engineers.
$360k annual TC for relatively easy work is good enough for me for another 10 yrs or so.
You 1st. Why are you?
I'm genuinely curious.
