Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

Wake up folks

Citi is quietly doing layoffs without much noise like Amazon or Microsoft. They are not in news much.

The government must look into the fake internal job postings, promotions for favorite candidates, and immigration visa abuse. Citi is notorious for replacing American workers with H1B, L1 TN, OPT, H4 EAD candidates.

They hire in India, Ireland, Poland, Costa Rica Singapore, and their last option is hiring in the USA.

Most of the Indian managers are racists and they discriminate other south asians based on caste and culture. It's a absolute disgrace to the America.
Citi HR and Ethics teams are a joke!

They will hire overseas and make them rich and show layoffs in the USA to bump up the stock!

The only strategy is lay off people and get more bonuses! This cannot survive for long. It's a shame that the assets of the big four banks in the USA are not even comparable to some average banks in China.

@wt lol. It will fail. Indians don’t bank with foriegn banks. Lack of trust and ofcourse lack of regulations which lead to often failures of these banks

I don't know,I am an Indian was working under another indian telugu manager, there were many underperformer (ofcourse all of them were telugu) in the team and I got laid off being one of the High performer.

@OP after some time only Ndians will remain in the company...and 10s of thousands of H1-B sponsorship to bring tons more in .....
Thanks to our politicians and corporate heads who let this happen and give it a free hand.... they dont know public sentiments....

Even though I agree with the posters that Citi will be Rebranded as RBI Royal Bank of India, just like RBS Royal Bank of Scotland, RBC Royal Bank of Canada etc, Everyone who's posting discriminatory insults will soon have their posts deleted by the site moderators. Give them a few days but it will happen.

The moderators can and will also block the posters from replying to anyone in the future. I've seen it done! LMFAO !!!

I am the only American caucasian on my team and I know I have a target on my back. My Boss who is in india and 9 hours ahead me, does things behind my back and assigns work to others. its just a matter of time before he replaces me with another indian worker.

@bh exactly, someone with a brain! the favouritism among groups is crazy and they only highlight the Indian one, while they ignore the favouritism among other groups. Anyway, the privileges are all fading away and now that they have to work, it is hurting them, good riddance, nothing of value will be lost to the company if these je-ks go

There's a whole coterie of Hispanic speakers based in South America (Costa Rica, Columbia), Mexico and in Tampa that speak in Spanish on calls, tell non-Spanish speakers to skip calls as they prefer to speak in Spanish on the calls and will summarize for the non-Spanish speaker's benefit ...also saves time for the non-Spanish they claim. Their Tampa based managers (also Hispanic) give them high ratings when they don't even deserve 3's. Tampa managers (two C15's) are shielded by white, American C16 who is remote and openly flouts the directive for all Covid hired remote employees to move to a location within an office. This white, American C16 is, in turn, promoted and shielded by a white, America born C16 based out of London for a few years now. This C16 well knows that many of his directs including the remote C16 and the Tampa C15's don't go into office and are always remote. They ignore manager reports tracking office in-days

Why aren't these people called out? Why is it always supposedly Indians who are the worst of the lot when clearly, others (Hispanics, whites, Russians etc.) will all form coteries when given the chance, especially at Citi?

Regarding the comment about Indian leadership....it does come across as they feel superior, uncomfortable, or perhaps a combination of both around non White employees. I genuinely wish this could be addressed somehow since this been an ongoing problem.
