Thread regarding Charles Schwab Corp. layoffs

New day new speculations

Smart money says second week, lot of confidence in first week.

Saw a post that mentioned time for real estate to plan for the RTO… which makes sense but a lot of recent timing decisions don’t. So good logic?

Biggest thing is the last conversion right? Happening early November. Probably want to get your house in order before that goes down. But who knows

SPECULATE AWAY

Date is somewhere between 10/27-10/31. IMPACT is week of 10/23 and they want to avoid bad publicity ahead of and during this week. They have to make layoffs prior to 11/1 for Warn notice period to be completed by 12/31.

Quite the opposite. As in prior layoffs many people know the "local" numbers. But no one knows the dates.. expect higher level md to have a week notice and everyone else is 24 hours.

Expect local numbers will vary greatly so no use speculating. 0-25%. Is on the table.
Maybe 100% for those fluffy nice to have teams

A lot of people know however they are all under NDA. Even then, some NDA people might only know bits and pieces of it…

People know the date. Those people might not know the numbers though

@ukb+1oPBXMS3 There was a thread here about the layoff process where the OP said that his manager told him that he found out the morning of the layoff. You decide whether his manager is telling the truth.

If it were to be happening next week, then a lot if people must know. Right? Or is it something people leaders learn about day-of?

Earnings call Oct 16. Completion of a majority of the actions will be presented there.

Next 2 weeks it is. Hold on tight.

Throw logic out the window. Decisions probably being made in a vacuum, and the people who are ultimately responsible will drag their feet until the last possible second.

They’ll treat us like mushrooms (feed us cr-p and keep us in the dark) until it’s time to harvest.

Whatever the last possible day it is they can do it? That’s when they’ll do it

You can’t use smart money for EC, you need d-mb money.

The information from the various all hands that addressed the layoffs all suspect any time Q4. The comment in one of those all hands about getting good workers some of the bonus tells me we will get an advanced bonus payment and that they pushed the date from mid September to October for that reason. No way it’s November, that would push people to get full bonus (60 calendar days with employment ending 12/31). October first week is my best guess.
