Now we know what BG really thinks about the Herzo crew

Having experience both in and outside the brand I can assure you the leaders I know at adi are leagues beyond quality leadership over some other competitor brands
Depends on the field of employment. There are many jobs in adidas based on STEM fields (science, technology, engineering, manufacturing) that require constant knowledge updating and certifications that are linked to the industry — and thus the knowledge of these individuals remains relevant.
Perhaps with directors and up that only manage people and don’t work in these fields that comment is true. But it isn’t true for all.
Just as you would be wrong in saying “all Germans dislike people who are not German” you are wrong in saying such things.
Exactly people work 20 years plus, directors / senior directors in adidas, means they have no experience outside, limited mindset, shady business growing around them, cliques.
Lot of them are plains idi*ts only going around using big words - total emptiness.
That's the layer that needs some cuts... a lot of them do not make any tangible work, but constantly bringing up some total bs. It's a sad state of the company management, very little talent in here.
Local herzo folks who are working for decades as Directors / Senior Directors is a plague. They have zero industry knowledge, zero hard skills, just dummies who know nothing about topics they supposed to lead. Big struggles to their teams as usually they give no directions, no insights, no real value and rather an obstacle in the whole process.
0 in adi0 may be stands for empathy. The communication is all over the place. BG is right in what he’s doing for the business but it’s mostly recommended by HO in the board but the HR and the SLT-1 behind it is so incapable.
Most of the SLT-1/SLT- 2 lack skills or global mindset. Absolutely no diverse thoughts. Very limited leaders with vision. It’s a bunch of locals who know nothing beyond adi.
Again, It’s one thing to let go off 500 employees and totally another low to host a brand party for more than 5k+ employees right in the middle.
@jd+1jnr0hkj1 Nikes all time share price was during covid just like everyone else , whenDTC was the only way.
Don’t confuse Distribution strategy with price , product mix and positioning
Adidas always does this, every time and and no mind for long term equity or building a brand. . I’ve seen things be built successfully and then just flood footlocker with as much as possible until they ki-l the trend. This happened before Bjorn and will continue after he’s gone. . It’s a company culture problem, and a fundamental lack of understanding of what it takes to build a high end brand. Same results come from having lower prices be what makes you competitive- no one wins the race to the bottom.
If success = share price . Nikes all time high share price was hit during their dtc push
Puma share price now back to 2016 low levels. Company got stripped to the bone, flooded wholesale for years with every and any shoe… segmentation out the window…never invested in digital or dtc….. exactly what your seeing now at ///
@h8+1jnr0hkj1 regardless of retiring or not, His literal job is to grow and make the company more profitable. I don’t care if he says this isn’t about money, the balance sheet has been sh-t for years, Adi is slow to adapt and plagued by processes and short term thinking. Things need to change.
Also anyone can affirm that Herzo is beyond bloated, and in the rest of the company often feels like it’s holding us back. Orgs need restricting every once Ina a while. The packages are generous when compared to other brands and your global counterparts who may also see some cuts. Try to get some perspective.
Lastly, if you have done any research on Nike you know the pivot to DTC is what got them in their current mess so you wouldn’t be jumping on that bandwagon. Puma’s market cap is epically low compared to the competition and especially in relation to their revenue. I wouldn’t exact set them as a North Star of success either.
Here are two sources just to get you started

BG said this is his last job before pension. As such he only cares about getting his millions.
The Hr minion will execute that cause she has no clue about hr strategy / leadership or motivation.
The whole thing was announced to make people scared and apply for voluntary packages. Idea is to push people to leave on their own cause management does not have the b@@@s to decide who should go.
And as always people who are totally useless might be protected if they are in BG circle ir go cycling with HO.
Empathy is not something that BG is aware about and he also does not care what people think. For him is important to get his millions.
Did BG just post that reply 😂😂
@e4+1jnr0hkj1 DTC looks more profitable on a margin per product but overall is less profitable to invest in driving sales, all investments go into consumer experience rather than product and innovation. It’s a nightmare and now how people shop, Covid was an exception.
Case in point would be this is why Nike is struggling and lost market share, they doubled down on DTC.
Don’t assume CEO will retire too quickly. Some love being with a strong brand through their glory days
Its a moment in time
BG is now over 60 and will retire soon. The next CEO will swing back global and dtc led after the WHS push runs out of steam, look at PUMA for case in point.
Why announce this and then take weeks to roll it out? Why have it pop up in the press regularly?
The loss of productivity alone due to anxiety and speculation is a massive loss.
Understanding there is no good way to do this, I can assure you this isn’t the way
I’m an employee in scope and will apply for the voluntary package. I’ve made my peace with it now and understand that it’s just business.
However, BG’s behaviour and communication style seems to become more and more erratic. I found the whole townhall quite uncomfortable. His attempt at humour feels quite cruel at times.
The lack of empathy in how he expresses about the cuts is astonishing, you are missing the point, which is about respect and empathy around people whose life and their families is being greatly affected and on top of that you mark their jobs with that label
This was already known for some weeks already? Why else would there be cuts..? Your post makes no sense…
