Layoffs before Christmas is common. It used to be only during Christmas in order to make the numbers. Then it became after each earnings call that was soft. Today it is every quarter. Soon to be layoffs every month.

Great points all currently applicable to 3M. Add to it the following point :

  1. N no. of people doing the actual work and providing updates to N+3,4...( take your pick) people on a regular basis for an extended period of time.

CBG will be toast next year. Its products are not going anyway. Even it is shutting own its own face mask productions.

Pretty clear the ship is going down when CBG lays off people 2 weeks before Christmas. A lot of first times at 3M these days.
