Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

DP should have consulted with CVX legal before instituting vaccination passports. It's illegal under Abbott's EO.

Chevron accepted $3,000,000 on 6/25/2013 from the Texas Enterprise Fund for the creation of 425 jobs. Governor Abbott's EO blocking Covid vaccination passports clearly states that public companies that have received tax payer dollars through a variety of programs, including grants are forbidden from enacting vaccination passports. See below on page 3, paragraph 3.

Sorry DP, but your zeal to crush opposition just landed you in hot water.

Yes, this is true. I checked with HR and they are now not requiring the vaccine passports. The OP is correct. Thanks for keeping us on top of this issue.

OP - I'm sure that DP did consult with legal before this was announced. What you really mean is that they should have consulted with you, since apparently you think you know more about the law than CVX legal.

I really hope this is true. I have been exhausted listening to leadership on how racist I am or that if I do not get a vaccine, I don't care. Chevron has been good to me the last ten years but I would sever in a heartbeat if they mandate vaccines.

You need to re-read the EO, specifically the part regarding public entities and tax-payer dollars.

The order relates only to passports for those receiving state services. Texas specifically allows and encourages vaccine passports by employers. Nice try, though.

Stay in Cali and worship DP then. The Permian is the future.

Not according to the state of Texas and not all of it. Chevron receives other tax-payer incentives. It's not legal.
