Monday Q1 2025 fallout

I’m sure we will pay the price, not those actually responsible for Ford’s bad shape.

Yes. They still have their golden parachutes while the rest pay the price for their bad decisions.

What has the quality czar been up to? He has been very quiet.

@be+1jte6szbm, I joined Ford a few years ago and thought I could help build a vehicle that I wanted to buy. Pretty much like you described, straight forward, money is all into quality parts, not do-dads and overall keep it affordable. My philosophy is make something where you see your mechanic less. But I quit soon after I started as I couldn’t fight the philosophy Ford has, add every feature you can to the car so we can market and sell at a higher price. And all this at the cost of a quality base. It has become really bad the last 4 years as the focus is all on subscription services, “add a sensor so we can charge people to use it”. China will come in with inexpensive cars that fit the bill and destroy us, even with tariffs

@be+1jte6szbm - nailed it! I couldn't agree more.

Just want a push rod v8 with DI, and VCT for an F150 with a 6 speed auto. As that too much to ask? Don’t want variable pressure oil pump, cylinder shut off BS, DOHC TiVCT, turbos or duel fuel systems. Simple yet affective. Bring back the old days and get the cost down. This is insanity. More parts and sensors is more opportunities for quality and operation issues. Oh and Cast iron block with aluminum heads.
