Surprised to see no comment on yesterdays announcement of JR retirement and new head of tech. Think any additional re-orgs due to this?

@Bhgs+1pCvhXjn There’s only a few L4s. Tell us who you mean.
If there is an IT layoff, may it start from the top with the over graded L4s in Enterprise IT! Useless
Awesome… CVS failed IT exec becomes AIG’s IT exec. Nothing will go wrong here - LOL
Oh good.
I'm sure the cloud implementation considered problematic at CVS will solve all our cloud issues.

@gmhr+1pCvhXjn Which groups? I haven’t heard of any layoffs coming…so of course worried now.
The layoff in AIG IT is coming in a week or so. Not sure how big of the size. The list was prepared months ago and had been approved by JP.
@cwls+1pCvhXjn - Isn't that the truth. JRs all-hands meetings were brutal to listen to. Like fingernails on chalk...
Darn, I was hoping to hear words of wisdom from JR one more time! Said no one, ever.
There will definitely be more re-organization changes and new senior executives to provide "guidance" for the "future state" of IT. There will be more futile and meaningless cost savings attempts (ranging from layoffs to pay freezes to IT equipment spending freezes and anything else they can think of) at the lowest parts of the organization to justify the exorbitant salaries of "newly created" roles.
It is just more of the same until peter can ride out his contract and collect his money.
But for everyone else it is just business as usual. Just remember to do what you need to do to pay your bills. No one in HR needs to approve of anything that you do outside of your given working hours, especially if you are not a senior management level position. This is just giving them a reason to let you go later. HR is for the protection and benefit of Peter and his folks, not the everyday worker.
He might be the most technology-ignorant person I’ve ever seen run a tech organization. Morale is terrible, FTEs think (justifiably so) that leadership loathes them, and good folks are leaving, and literally no one can describe a road map showing a future state AIG.
Good bye, we will not miss you.
Was he?
The business and ops side is in very deep with Accenture.
I've always wondered if it was JR's idea or one forced on him by PZ.
It is an expensive mess. They tell execs what they want to hear even when it is obviously not achievable.
Accenture has been a massive trainwreck. JR was the brainchild for that deal. I wonder if AIG will start distancing from Accenture now...
JR is not retiring is being let go. To prevent all the cr-p from getting leaked out and share price taking a tumble, JR has been sugar coated as retirement and is leaving. Under the hood it is a long story short. The new Sri Lankan guy is friend to PZ. PZ is probably planning for more Asian meat positions to create a dummy around him of nodding heads.
JR was the worst thing that happened to IT at AIG. During his time, massive layoffs and bad choices in technologies to save money. Good riddance to this POS.
Ah, perfect excuse for Petey to create even more random positions and bring in a few more friends.
