SMC got hit hard, with no regard to who..leaving several gaps.
If you disagree with that clown it’s always because of your reading comprehension, not because he’s constantly shifting his statements when called out.
Angry much? Read my whole post and you'll clearly see that I stated we need to do better than our peers. Also, notice how our peers have flourished and we have not. Perhaps you left Chase for other reasons that make you feel better about yourself.
@bfo. I’m sure if all the other kids jumped off a cliff, you would do it too.
Real leaders don’t do what everyone else is, they carve a path that works for their own company.
I came here several years ago because we were not like Chase. Sad to see we are becoming just like them with the same failed policies from the same failed leadership. Why do you think they are no longer there?
Pull the bandaids and get it over with.
@1owp+1buEZWzd Dream on. It would not hurt him a bit when he leaves with his golden parachute. Worthless upticks!
Wellsplaining: "Dead weight" = "Anyone who's not me."
sounds good! Ill take the lump sum!

Agree. Need to get the number down. Wells can afford to do that. Too many dead weight
Spot on. The number needs to put us in line with our peers which should reduce to less than 200k employees. If we're being honest, they should shoot for the least amount possible without losing quality and efficiency. We should aim to set the new bar, not just match our peers. I know, I know, quality and efficiency is laughable in these parts as we haven't even come to close to either of those attributes in years. Regardless, the shareholders will want something close to our peers. I hope the number is closer to 28k tomorrow as it's halfway to what should be our near term goal.
"28000 is a good number. No more complaining!"
No. That number is more of a near term goal. The longer goal is to get the headcount <200K in the next 5 years through automation and Cloud Computing.

I can confirm most QAs have a meeting tomorrow with a higher up. I’m very nervous.
@jda for my last meal I want a McRib sandwich and a shamrock shake. Since they are never offered at the same time I will be here forever
I assume you mean 228 in one particular line of business or group, because the company-wide total is a lot more than 228. Source?
28000 is a good number. No more complaining!
2,280 isn't a big number either
Press LIKE if you think Charlie should get a layoff notice tomorrow! It's about time.
Running this company's morale into the ground and pi----g off a lot of people.
There’s no way with the numbers they’re trying to get to - are you sure it’s not 2,280?
Can't find newer article, but here's one talking about 5-10% cut. It could very well be revised by now.

228? LOL if that’s a true number!!
The official number is 228 company wide. Very small number, nonetheless I wish the affected people well.
Why 5-10%? I thought the goal was at least twice that.
Is audit in the mix? They have escaped for too long !
A big number might be CS's best chance to boost Q2 results and stock price. Don't think that CS has yet persuaded the analysts that he knows how to run this particular big bank.
We will know soon enough. Good luck!
Not sure what the scope of this round would be but I know of couple software engineers who would be getting packages tomorrow.
Keep in mind that they need to hit 5-10% cut from pre-Chuckie employees count. We are not safe until they reached that target number.
Yep it’s true. Everyone get your last meal request in tonight before you get strapped in to old sparky. Let’s just hope Percy remembers to wet the sponge
Yep. Bed Bath & Beyond and Home Depot. Big day.
Can anyone identify which LOBs will be affected?
There are false alarms all over this site, but this isn't one of them. This wave has been known about for some time, but obviously only by certain people that have a business need to know. In any event, it's a 100% absolute certainty that there is a large wave of layoffs on the 24th, much larger than anything we've seen in previous "last Thursdays".
@wpj. These false alarms are tiresome. If there was accurate info, it would be one thing. But those claiming to know weeks ahead like this person propagating this for weeks when we know no one knows until the last minute are ridiculous when they get everyone up in arms about nothing. How did those other dates work out for you?
Maybe your LOB, not mine.
I think a lot of people would welcome getting the call tomorrow....hey you're on a 60 day vacay plus some. This place is just abusive and is management by fear. Always has been, always will be.
Serious question, if you don't give a &@(" about layoffs, why are you here? Nothing else worth doing in your life?
Doom and gloom! Layoffageddon!
Give me a break. I’ll come back on and laugh at new tomorrow just like all the other times you have spread this.

I hope I'm one of them. I haven't spoken to my manager in two months so it would be nice to a) catch up and b) get laid off
yes - it's last thursday of most months. sometimes next to last thursday if there's a holiday bumping around the last weekend.
It'll be this way all year.
The only question is whether they'll move to two mass notification dates each month. Onsie-twosies happen here and there, but not these huge company-wide simul-displacements.
People saying "fake news" need to just stop. They don't know what they are talking about and are not in the know. Hundreds of managers are conducting notifications tomorrow. Hundreds. By the end of the day thousands of our coworkers will be gone.
Technology is huge, even after the various layoffs over the past year. You kind of have to narrow that down.
