Thread regarding AIG (American Intl Group Inc.) layoffs

AIG

Sounds like Peter Zaffino is drinking the same thing and Trump and wants to fire or force people to quit for not not going back to the office. Kiss the ring!!!!!

AIG up a lot more than 9% over last 5 years, though lagging Chubb.

In the past 5 years AIG stocks value went up by 9% (even after various waves of buyback), many other competitors are above 40% for the same period. At the moment, investing in AIG makes you lose money even in respect of inflation. So I was wondering, how are we really performing ? The management statements are very confusing and probably they are trying to hide something, any thoughts? I'm worried that massive layoffs are coming, far more deep then last years

So if your AIG profile is designated as ‘Remote’. You do not have to RTO? Or are some Remote people being asked to RTO even if outside of a 50-mile radius?

Insurance magazine interviewed PZ. PZ wants Accenture to take over all operations where FTE can be removed and remote workers can be laid off. He has already laid off people based out of UK. PZ wants to improve stakeholder by downsizing FTE who have been useless always.

Let’s hope Peter takes after Trump and the generous exit package being offered to all sorts of government employees! Guessing very few employees would be left at AIG so he finally achieves his dream of making the A in AIG stand for Accenture

I can’t speak to all, but I have been working remotely since it was first started in 2009, so not only are employees like me being rto but their original office is no longer open and are just being thrown into other offices without any regard to additional expenses and taxes that weren’t being paid at the original offices.
Being “designated” remote didn’t exist back then and now we fight to try and get that coveted designation which probably won’t come.
So for ALOT of folks this has nothing to do with COVID.
Praying for a layoff option at this point.

I’m confused by all the back & forth about WFH, remote, etc. Every memo PZ sent during covid indicated that we were all going back to the office, sooner or later, once it was safe, unless one had a medical reason not to return. So why all the back & forth about going back to the office? Now, for those hired as a remote worker and on your AIG profile it lists “remote” for office address, then that I believe would be a different story. For the rest of us, the picnic is over, we had a good 4 or so years, but now we go back or quit or wait for the rif.

Nothing but restatement of what had been said before. We’re back to normal operations. Remote work isn’t a bad thing, but unless you were hired in specifically as a remote position, I don’t see your argument. Change is hard. My wife is a OBGYN and she never can work remotely. And some of us have returned to the office as requested and pay the price. Why are you special?

There is nobody remaining all the departments have been cleanly wiped out by lay offs. PZ might use illegal migrants to run parts of the office at cheaper salaries.
