Resideo has initiated cost reduction actions that are expected to result in an approximate 5% decrease in Resideo's global workforce and approximately $70 million of annualized savings once fully implemented, which is expected to be within the next 12-24 months. Key initiatives include right-sizing the business, simplifying the organizational structure, optimizing manufacturing, and rationalizing corporate spending. These cost reduction measures are expected to improve the focus of operational resources on advancing strategic initiatives and better position Resideo to scale with future growth.

The recent layoff did some cleaning at the bottom but the directors that are the real hidden problem remain. It makes for a environment that is quite toxic and based on games. HR fosters that environment and we have a truly bad reputation in the market especially software. Less in hardware.

I feel in resideo we are running scams constantly… we have all those people that create millions of useless lines of codes, CTOs that just spend time BSing, PMO that focus on their s-x lives, IT that just lives to bill services that are ever more expensive… Melville full of useless grand pa and fellows that are millionaires …. Well we produce excellent vaporware in austin and Bangalore so we don’t need layoffs….
Downsizing through attrition and contractors let go - no layoffs planned. Very few (if any) new hires.
Doesn’t look like any real layoff are occurring just contractors….

We keep reusing the honeywell thermostats with a new plastic face and slap a new name… a bit like new lipstick color on a pig… however they sell for those contractors… waiting for China to come and write us off into the sunset… i got my stock vested so anything else is gravy now

You are right, majority of the security IP is coming from Ademco and is obsolete and bring limited $$ to Resideo. The thermostat IP brings definitely much more $$ to Resideo and is coming from Honeywell.
I have been working for Ademco/Honeywell and now resideo for many years. Honeywell destroyed the Ademco culture which led the industry in home security systems. The time to market from concept to production almost tripled in cost and time. Honeywell outsourced hundreds of yrs of combined knowlege and experience overseas and outsourced our factories. They layed off departments in order to fire 1 person so they would not be sued for discrimination. When resideo split, Honeywell dumped all there asbestos liabilites on Garrett and resideo. That is why there stock jumped after the split. Many inovaters have left or retired, new upper management comes an goes and pulls everyone in opposite directions every few years.
The JZ factory wastes millions a year with inefficient manufacturing and test processes which cause many product recalls. From leading the industry to copying and reproducing competitors products is sad. I am still trying to decide where to spend the $10 amazon "Holiday" card they sent everyone as a bonus. It is insulting for working hard all year. With the ADT contract expiring at the end of the year it will be intersting to see what is next! Whoever mentioned old IP from Honeywell is making resideo money your are incorrect. It was from Ademco!

I am so glad people are using this forum to say things we can’t say overtly at work.
At resideo people are working hard but the true outcome, result or impact is far below what one should expect. It’s like a household investing 1k and actually getting back $750 so a net loss of 250…
Why?
We have marketing whose best achievement is selling US some bullsh-t. Let’s not talk about customers. We have sales that can only sell at a huge discount to contractors and can’t seem to be able to sell to customer as they keep the same VPs that keep talking about their hatch , travel and expense free trips to events
We have IT who is loosing hardware left and rigth (we know many people left in the past year with devices that were “written off” or lost
The cost to maintain any product is prohibitive with IT choosing the worst possible solution financialy where like in software development are basicaly padding their resume for the next job.
And it goes on and on
And let’s not forget software … a known cesspool of PowerPoint producers who produce billions of useless lines of codes
Don’t get me wrong.. the same problems occur at every corporation…. The difference with resideo is that instead of 10% loosers we have 60%….
I feel like being in the Russian army . Disorganized, incompetent leadership, fake achievements, fake contracts where money goes to friends and. Family … again it happens everywhere but the scale with us … staggering.

All the top innovators and achievers left resideo very shortly after the split or right before. We got left with fakers that got promoted far beyond their capabilities. Like when you want to remove pests in your house you got to eliminate them because as long as a bunch remain they recreate the culture that brought us where we are. Off course when you have a VP that can’t change the culture… magic solution is to outsource to India… which is trading pests and not a solution

Yah I agree the quantity of mismanagement or bad management is staggering in software. Freaky. I use my time padding my resume proposing new unproven technologies or tech that is coming from Facebook and such (where they have grown 300M to maintain and develop) knowing we don’t have the money to work on but that allows me to learn for my next job

The problem at resideo is simple. quite a few key leadership people are toxic and backstabbers.
You simply can’t trust them you are fresh out of studies barely a year so you can’t tell the difference between some “leader” telling you BS and experience. The key is always the number. Some team have a low % of toxic leaders. Those team are ok. Some team have a much higher % - stress ensue. Believe me you’ll know even if some are very skilled at a dual face game…. Welcome to resideo where we have no real new products but still make money selling IP dating back from honeywell
Good people and some toxic where ever you go. Only been at Resideo 1 yr and the folks are better here than most. Big companies move slowly - nature of the beast. There are a lot of smart people here keeping it a profitable business. You can't do that with all slackers or folks that just complain about life because that is their nature.
