@d5 More like roles get outsourced to so-called “A.I. agents” who are supposed to take over all WC jobs at some point. Ignore the hype. Bosses are just using this as a stick to beat workers with. The reality is that A.I. capabilities are massively overblown. Take it from someone who trains LLMs for a living.

@ft The link is to a CNBC article.

I personally find CNN to be the least sensationalist of the major U.S. cable news networks, though I’ll admit that isn’t saying much. You’ll actually get better fact-based reporting from reputable international outlets like BBC and the business press.

It’s a sham for the college grads. Once they stay for a decade, there is no place for them to go. Because they only learn the ExxonMobil way and not transferable skills.

A few years ago, it was pretty much understood senior people treat new grads with kid gloves. Give them a successful project and do everything to make sure they succeed. Just about do their project for them. Because we were supposed to demonstrate our ability to “mentor” others. I really think it is wrong because it attribute credit where it is not due. The system is designed to check the boxes for those who they deemed to be HiPo. Takes credit from those who spent decades to achieve mastery. It’s a messed up system.

No problem there, we’ll just hire in India so that those left in the US can do their job on top of India’s. Worst decision ever, but who cares about code or data quality when the big time managers claim thousands saved on headcount reduction. KS did so until she retired, KQ is up next

It’s ok. We are only hiring in India. It doesn’t matter where USA college grads rank us.

Did you even read the article you posted? The only mention of XOM was related to this poll “ Generation Lab also polled respondents to see which major companies they "associate with unethical behavior or negative impact."” They weren’t ranking XOM on whether or not they were a good employer (not saying they are btw). Of course young people are going to say XOM has a negative impact.

a look at who are ‘leaders’ in this company explains the toxic radioactive choking culture. A short poem —

part of those who work here dies everyday, just like radioactive decay.

the ones who put employees against each other, who are they?
Are they leaders, or donkies nodding and eating hay?

Performance assessment is subjective and unfair,
Do an anonymous survey and the answer is right there

but the truth is no one cares,
as long as you get paid monthly, it doesnt matter if GenZ stares

Yes men, yes women all hand in hand
Run the company down into the sand

Its the worst place to work in oil and gas
if you get an offer please pass

your heart and mental health will thank you,
or you will be here just like me doing boo boo

Who else would it be. This will be dusted over and we have our own survey with leading questions that lead the leaders to think they are awesome. The Brutal Truth were too real for the MC so they made their own questions up

Only 52% of 18-34 year old workers are working 5 days a week?

Is this the same group that wants the federal government to pay off their loans?

When you prove to your employer that your job can be done remotely you probably should not be surprised when it is outsourced.
