Agree on legal. You don’t realize how many “biz” people there are who treat the company’s money like it grows on trees and every vendor is their “partner”. Legal helps temper the efforts of leeches though admittedly there’s only so much they can do in business divisions where the culture is to supervise minions as little as possible.
"How productive is Legal in terms of earnings?" Absurd statement. They put all contracts in place and shelter us from risk. I am not in legal but to minimize what they do tells me you are a junior resource.
When is the last day of work for who got the pink slip today?
Was network accounting team affected in this round?
Is it done for the day? Or people still being notified in the West Coast?

Brutal day in the legal department. Three teams I know lost over 50% of their staff and one team had 90% of their team members let go. It basically doesn't exist any more. How does a company do that?

A lot from Consumer products- head of creative, most of our Project management teams, head of businesses such as e-comm, CPG, and a few from creative teams. This is a blood bath, never seen anything like this before.
Lots of Project Managers in consumer products, some sales people, big creative leads, the CMO, Nick Producers in marketing, social and execs in development for Nickelodeon shows were all impacted. It just kept going and going.
Are you able to elaborate on the newly formed marketing team ? What org and division - still waiting in LA ...
Any info on what this newly formed marketing team will be?
Just got an email from HR saying my role was not impacted but will be shifting under newly formed marketing team.
They also said “Saying goodbye to colleagues is never easy—which is why we do it once every six months.”

CBS marketing has been hit. Not sure of number but confirmed two talented creatives let go

I am in Finance org - Team impacted more than 60% , no idea what they are planning to do with less than 40% of the team.
Streaming Org - other than the TR follow up, there was a breif message from my manager around 10:30a (PT) that was pretty much an acknowledgement, but noting else. VERY quiet today.
what about the non-creative side of streaming? more operations -based - some peeps in CA and NY .. anyone know the plans for those?
I am in streaming tech. My boss told us as of right now he hadn't heard our division being impacted today. Sept is a possibility.

@xdg+1tZWZGeQ If you work in streaming and with reporting lines right up to TR you will not be affected until the Sept round. If you work in a support function like HR, Finance and Legal supporting streaming you might be affected before the end of day.

Streaming here. Outside of nervous comments made by colleagues in meetings, it's absolutely quiet and a little too quiet. Outside of that, there's a large meeting including everyone in my dept set up by my SVP coming in about an hour or so. But no one has been let go near me yet.
PM/OP team in NY got cut by half of its staff - brutal and horrible day today ..
Doing pretty bad tbh. Lot of talented folks being let go. No word on when the layoffs are over either. If we avoid the axe this round, there’s still September too. Truly brutal

Work in Streaming org. Heard absolutely nothing, managers didn’t even comment on the email or layoffs. Haven’t heard of anyone being affected yet aside from here.

It's been a bloodbath. Horrible. Whole Orgs let go who add so much value to the company.
