Today was the best day I’ve had in a long while since I started with Globalfoundries over 5 years ago! Happy to announce I gave notice of my resignation. I had been actively job hunting since the last round of layoffs and received 2 offers. 1 industry related and the other Medical Technologies. Both in the Albany region, so I don’t have to uproot my family and our lives. I even got an increase in salary and lower cost medical benefits. I had initially feared job hunting and leaving but can not believe how many companies are actively hiring. For the people thinking about changing employers, don’t be afraid. Do it! It’s been bad in Malta for a very long time and I honestly don’t think it’s going to get better. Don’t sell yourself short or settle for what GF gives you. There are better companies and Jobs just waiting for us.

Congrats! I’ve been out of GF since December. Life is good but it’s better outside of GF ✌️

Thanks for sharing your story, the industry is still hiring even in this downturn. Everyone should look at getting another offer or two and see what is out there and then decide if they want to leave or not. GF will do the same thing to you the next layoff, they will look at you versus others on your team and decide which of you will need to leave.
