I know of people who think their group or themselves are safe from layoffs because of their experience and knowledge and good relationship with their manager and so on. If they had been paying attention, they'd know how wrong they are. People who I thought were absolutely indispensable are gone. It made no sense to get rid of them and yet here we are. People need to wake up and realize this is not about knowledge or experience or whatever else. It's all about money. If your pay is too high in their eyes, you'll be gone. These are just facts.

Spot on! I saw a coworker get promoted to lead for our team only to be laid off a couple months later. It was the craziest thing I had seen at any company. I didn’t realize that other high performers were being laid off because of salary too.
This is exceptionally true of VPs and Directors out to get each other and anyone in their way. Starts at the top!
If you know the finance department managers, you know exactly how sneaky they are. They will throw you under the bus or walk all over you for their own benefit. Do not trust any of them!!!!!
Double AMEN back to @fow+1q8Yx846. You are SO RIGHT! The mangers in this company are snakes. Don’t EVER TRUST them. They act like your friend but in reality are only there to step on and over you for their own benefit. I’ve had it happen to me and have seen it happen to others so many times! The Clown Castle good-ole-boy and nepo company needs a MAJOR house cleaning starting at the top and then working downward through the chain of command. To those managers guilty of this, and you know who you are and what you have done to others, remember karma - what goes around comes around. It’s just a matter of time for you.
Amen. However, strike the manager comment. You may think some people are your friends, but the company is full of people who would shaft you for a promotion.

OP is 100% accurate. CC only cares if u are cheap labor and which diversity box you check- not at all if you are any good at your job or even if you are ethical in any way. It’s all about the dollars and diversity at the end of the day. Look at the previous layoff buckets and the firm hired to make the anonymous selections of who to keep and who to let go.

The OP is correct. People have been saying that fiber was a mess and that there would be mass layoffs at some point. I remember seeing a ton of responses saying that person was full of it. Well, here we are.
Agreed thank you for the specific details and new information. No one that comes here has even thought there would be more layoffs. I don’t know how we could be so blind. You have open my eyes to see. Words can not express how thankful we are for this post.
We should all feel grateful that this person has taken time out of their life to give us their opinion of what is going to happen. I don’t know how I’d be able to live my life without it.
