Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Everyone is your competition!

This is a lesson I learned here the hard way, so I'm writing this in case someone forgot that the atmosphere here is such that everyone you might think is your friend is actually a competition.
It’s awful what people do to keep their miserable jobs here. Is the job at Allstate so good that it's worth stomping on everyone just to get ahead?

@djv+1erZeJC9 true, but dont blow sunshine up our @$$es all year about being a "team" and then (as other poster showed: linked to outside source) promote based on race/s-x/protected class and act like we need to pretend we are a "team."

We're not a team, the management policies being adopted lately illustrate we are not a team, and in place of a "team" HR or whomever is siloing us by race, s-x, and G knows what else as isolated individuals. Who knows if merit is even considered anymore or how far down the list it is (the article from the insurancejournal.com wasn't titled "Allstate Gives out Bonuses based on solely Merit-Based Promotion"--that would have been earth-shattering, severely un-woke, and Allstate might lose some market segment as a result).

Btw, isn't this all insulting if you are hard working and in a protected class? Doesn't it bother you that you can never be certain you earned your way in the woke work world? Or instead, were given a trendy handout based on the current cultural flavor of the times and moreso, because your supervisor got a bonus.

Sure we're competing and Allstate is not only undermining any concept of team with its policies, it's encouraging a really $hitty work environment. Well done "leaders."

What @fhl+1erZeJC9 said.

The PDS goals and review run completely contrary to "Team Building" and all the buzz words thrown out all year long about we're a family (not to mention they new woke work culture that recognizes everything but merit--that is really inspiring and builds team solidarity). When we are told where we rank according to our peers, how the heck does that engender a team mentality? Does this ranking figure into promotions, uhhmm guessing thats a no.

However, do not let the corporate c-suite id--ts running Transformative Metastasis define who you are or your attitude toward teammates, take the high road. The TG cronies are using you to maximize their year end bonus, that is their sole goal. In the meantime, if you're let go there are always other corporate jobs out there, even the c-suite will get their comeuppance once the shareholders/directors come to realization that they hired a bunch on incompetents whose entire track record is built on driving companies into the ground cutting to the bone, without any comprehensible plan to increase market share, then parachuting out.

Quit caring, do the bare minimum, take these suckers' money, and laugh about it. You will feel so much better and less stressed. These vile beings don't care one bit about us so why care about them? They claim to have a "culture" but they do nothing themselves to live into it. Sc--w them.

The scumbag mentality from the top rolls down. Another lesson to be learned is don’t let this toxic place affect your soul. Be you and be kind no matter what. These fools will get laid off just like everyone else.

This should be common sense and not something anyone needs to learn the hard way
