Enterprise Sales - Specialists

What do you think is the likely reduction in headcount for Ent specialist sales reps? It feels as though the recent CIBG Cloud Pack license shifts is prepping the Core AEs to be more responsible for certain solution sets, and I’m wondering your thoughts on whether we will see a specialist purge at some point. Particularly in public sector given Broadcoms attitude towards PubSec

Support!? All emails will be processed by AI and all log files will be sent to /dev/null

Unhappy? Try and switch.

Have a good day sir. I said HAVE A GOOD DAY! You get NOTHNG! - that is Hrock Tran’s attitude toward customer support.

Welcome to the end.

My title is Sr. Director and I’ve been busy mapping out the behavior of the PA turtles, a bit like Jane Goodall. Should I be worried?

@qxa+1mYp0zYD I was only answering regarding sales. Engineering personnel are much safer. Staff positions (HR, legal, finance, internal IT, facilities...) and layers of management are at much greater risk.

Seriously gang, if your title says 'sr director' and you don't have an organization with a defined budget, multiple managers and at least 100 people under you, it's time to pack your bags.

If you look at Citrix and what TK did. Many factors will be at play.
Are you aligned to Commercial, Corporate or Strategic accounts?
Are you in a country that's worth having dedicated staff in, once we focus on strategic only. Sorry New Zealand.
Are you government, telco or private sector aligned.

The number may be 70% but evenly spread across the board.

As another poster stated, it is an overlay function and those don't last at Broadcom. The only ones I could see remaining would be EUC if they don't sell it off. Maybe, and just maybe they keep some for the "Strategic" accounts but even that is a stretch. For corporate and commercial forget it...

I think what is likely is day 0 there is a big chunk of Ops, Advisory, Marketing, Channel and Overlay sales gone, plus a whittling down of core reps. Then in say 6 months a 2nd wave with another pound of flesh from what is left.

Don't forget that Hock and his teams have now had well over a year to dig, discover and plan to dispose on all things VMware. They have done the diligence and have now seen the business from the inside out for a full cycle. There are no more unknowns so they will go fast and deep on the cuts IMO.

They have what is left of the CA sellers for the Aria stuff. As for Tanzu, it's just another infra play if you want to make any money on it and the core reps will be expected to understand K8 on vSphere and be able to sell it, or will be out of work in a jiffy.

Wondering the same especially for NSBU ?
What would be the impact and how NS sales will be driven through the BC playbook?

70% reduction for the whole company, or only for enterprise sales?

70% reduction. That was the magnitude of the cut for both CA and Symantec.
