Thread regarding Saudi Aramco layoffs

Pathetic shills trying to discredit this site

TheLayoff need to start banning Aramco IPs from this site. The sad local goons can’t accept the truth so have resorted to filling it with nonsensical, adolescent insults and slurs.

These people have no ability to present a reasoned counter argument, because there just isn’t one.

Yet, you still choose to simply be employed as a Peon, that’s gotta be rough.

The anti sentiment really grew after the Saudis shot themselves in the economic foot starting and then losing the price war with the fracking industry. Probably started around 2016 or so. It has gotten really bad, and the workplace there slowly turned into a toxic resentful cesspool. The company is no longer a good place to work and live.
It was at one time though.

@148+1jgy3mqs6 - yes, it is the thobe's country, company and resource. But it was your country's choice to invite expats in the discover and develop your resource. It was also your King's decision to beg the USA for security from your neighbors who hate you - a list that keeps growing yearly. In both instances, your country and company lied to expats so they would help your country/company to maintain its position on the world stage. Now that the USA and western expats are waking up to what aholes the Saudis really are, you will have your chance to develope your resources exactly as you please...or should I say, as MBS pleases. To all the thobes who follow & troll this site....thank you! After seven years in your third world country, I walked out a millionaire. And now, I get to watch you thobes go down on your sinking ship.

So much unhappiness, disharmony, anger on these posts (with minor exception). Human memories are short, and it has been a very long time since 1938. And as it was mentioned elsewhere, with each passing year and each passing generation the Saudi's are asking, 'Why do we need these people? It is our country and our resource so WE should reap the benefits.' You don't have to like it, but it is real. Adjust accordingly.

I am glad this site is exposing Aramco and their lack of integrity when hiring all Expats. Aramco has no ethics. The oil and gas world is taking notice. The truth hurts.

I can see and clearly feel discontent with another lay off cycle and the work climate there. This is expected. A hostile environment on an uneven playing field surely points I should persuade alternative options elsewhere.

IMO you are spot on, as an American that spent many years there, I can say that on many occasions I observed and was the target of anti-expat sentiment. Not only with Aramcons but also from non-Aramcons when out and about Khobar and Dammam, even Bahrain. Just part of life in that part of the world....this isn't your father's Aramco.

I'm pursuing a role real hard (and patiently) with the company, for a short term return after a rough time personally.

But I must say, this post really is on point with point of those undermining the integrity of this site. I'm reading the room here and feel there's a strong anti sentiment against expats with the company.
