Well here goes another one. At this point, Broadcom is just like a virus that just is out for destruction of the entire IT landscape

My money is on Apple succeeding here.
@VMWepic. Correct, but Hockster has been trying to plan for these scenarios.. he wants more software to balance the ups/downs on the semi side. it will take a few years for apple to get where they want to be..it's not easy designing and scaling up production. hock will out extremely onerous terms on apple as this unfolds.
Apple is saying bye bye to Broadcom chip and replacing it with their own product. A big chunk of change stripped adding more possibilities of layoff on both side of the business…
That’s not the case for VMWARE.
You’re joking right. VMware has MASSIVELY overhired. It is as bloated as my gut after having a big curry.
@1arq+1kDZIGok
VMware did increase in size over the pandemic. (Not as much as the others mentioned, but still increased).
With all of the T&E bans to make the company look healthier. I am surprised there has not been a small restructure ahead of broadcom.
If the same model that happened at Citrix happens and commercial accounts are cut, keeping only GAM, E1 & E2. There will be a lot redundancies.
Those tech giants laid off people due to over hiring. That’s not the case for VMWARE.
Whole tech industry Facebook, Amazon, Salesforce etc etc is having huge layoffs EXCEPT Vmware. ROFL
“ just Tom Krause following the BCOM model” - yes, current state at Citrix seems to be very similar to the original ‘Broadcom plan for VMware’ shared with us post-announcement. Entire countries and segments laid off etc.
I get the fear of being laid off, but frankly VMware needs some deep cuts. From sales, to billing ops, to DMT, etc… the amount of people that exist to simply collect paychecks is absurd.
If you are redundant the writing is on the wall - WITH OR WITHOUT BC!
Not AVGO, just Herr Krause taking something from the playbook.
Mark my words Hock will acquire this morass a few years from now.
@ern+1kDZIGok your right Broadcom is not involved in this.
But mass layoffs, focus on the top 1000 customers, that sure sounds like Broadcom to me, and of course Krause learned that from Hock.
Shareholders will be rewarded, customers will be screwed.
nothing to do with Broadcom
I dont think that was BCOM, just Tom Krause following the BCOM model but yes a s&&t show
