@er, maybe big tech such as Microsoft, AWS are using AI as an excuse to shed humans, but no where in the Fidelity India layoff story mentioned "AI". I double checked, nada.
Fidelity's AI applications are not mature enough to displace human yet.

They eliminated the positions due to "AI"
Yes, the sycophantic, trained on stolen data, AI was used to justify destroying the livelihood of 500 people. Each one of those people was probably supporting an entire extended family with their meager earnings.
They're testing it out "over there" -- where the brown folks with the orange dots can't vote -- but trust me, their appetite will not be limited there if they discover value in what they are doing.
The economy should be for humans, period end of story.
