They keep adding as much work as possible to an employee's plate until they snap. Then they know the limit and placate the employee with "you're our best worker" and similar platitudes as they keep their workload at the barely sustainable level. Then they get the big bonuses for "motivating" their subordinates while the employees continue to break their backs for no extra reward. Am I wrong?

Truth. HR and liaisons & “leaders” and above get big $$ high fives for taking credit for acting like non working managers. Their planning dept and sucks and as bad as the shady tech companies process and systems. Wasteful business and financial decisions galore. Well before “vivify”

I think we are now seeing the drawbacks of all those participation trophy's.
While they wine and dine themselves so they can laugh at you. Fly around the country, play golf when they want, etc. But yeah pretty much right the description of how the useless elites operate.
