Wait a minute. I thought we were supposed to be against DEI stuff and focus on hiring the most qualified candidate. Now you're saying we need to prioritize hiring white males who are less qualified? That sounds like DEI.

The market pay rate has been distorted by their presence.
I've had several visa holders work for me over the years. Sorry to break it to you, but their pay was on par with everyone else. Heck, anyone hired within 3 years of college graduation is brought in at a fixed salary level.
So maybe, just maybe, these people were hired because they are smart and not because you assume they will work for less.

@as They're brought in at lower than market payscale. They're dependent upon a sponsor to remain in the country. They don't do anything at all about their pay since they risk being immediately sent back home without a sponsor.
