Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Another a-ho-e caught on tape, stating CCS is a sham

https://www.washingtonpost.com/climate-environment/2021/11/24/exxon-global-warming-climate-skepticism/

Ex VP of Exploration, now in Low carbon “solutions”, stating that Carbon Capture isn’t really a solution, just means to get corporate welfare gravy.

Elevating a climate change denier to a mission critical position goes to show that there are either too many deniers waiting to be promoted, or that greenwashing is all what’s expected of the new business line.

How long can shareholders tolerate this disgraceful and incompetent people as executives??

CCS makes the company more money than it costs in the same way that Mike Lindell spends money on stupid commercials, but makes more money as a result. In our case, such actions as CCS may not really do a thing to help the world, but maybe teachers unions and such will reintroduce XOM stock to their portfolios, driving stock prices up.
This may not be of benefit to the run of the mill employee, but it will be great for those with 10,000 or more shares in their thrift fund or RSU account.

Corporate Strategic Research (CSR) in Clinton, New Jersey and all its employees are the biggest drain and sham in the entire corporation. This is the place where some good scientists existed in 1980s, who figured out climate change before others. Those knowledgeable people are extinct now.

The current CSR is full of losers who cannot get job elsewhere and are clinging to this place like their life depends on it. The VP syrup is the biggest fraud. They sent some to RTD etc and man what brain dead suckers

While I despise corporate and think they are doing a terrible job with climate, OP’s title is misleading. This wasn’t some sneaky unknown recording, this wasn’t “caught”.

And as for the stance that this is a financial opportunity, there’s two reasons for that phrasing/messaging. Firstly, a company has to be FINANCIALLY responsible to shareholders. So promoting this as a money loser but good for the environment means lawsuits that we would lose. Second, if you present it as a financial situation then the likelihood of people backing a carbon price increases as opposed to saying like yea this is just green and the money doesn’t matter.

Again, I think we are bad for the world but like I get the phrasing and messaging.

I don't surprise with any of it...people at the top only cares about money...you will see soon that the company is going down not because of the rank and file people, but because of the leadership....
How much money do you think that EM donates to the politicians in order to push its agenda ?
Fasten your seatbelt now....

ExxonMobil doesn't care about environment and people welfare. It is full of evil humans working for their little gains and willing to sell their souls to the devil.
