Anyone know what they plan to cascade tomorrow?

They used to pride themselves on the cascade. It’s when an employee knew that it was time to align the year with their objectives. Now it’s like playing an advanced Sodoku.
I remember they used to cascade to a point they would actually help you align your year with their. Now it’s a mess.
At least they admitted Ford is at the tail of the industry.

I might be more OK with the RTO push if they gave us a valid reason. Treat us like adults and don't pretend this is what we wanted. Be honest and provide us with the real reason to justify the loss of productivity.
If your reasons cannot pass basic scrunity, then perhaps you're not the best choice for leadership.

Sept cost reduction doesn’t provide time for self selection to opt out of RTO. Maybe that is how they will get space. Layoffs in August.
I like it.... At 5PM, locking up laptop at the office. And that's it. See you next day. No more free work remotely stuff.

Yup, just came out of a GLM cascade. RTO 4 days starting 9/1. There’s also a slide indicating cost reduction target timing is September. I guess those self selected to refuse 4-days RTO will be part of their cost reduction target.
What"s exciting about this cascade? Nothing.
Need everyone back to the office 5 days per week.
Many employees are still working from home, they don't even come into the office.
If you are working from home, then you are on the list to be layoff.
Once we are in 4 days and they still don’t meet objectives as usual, then what?
60 hour weeks for salaried employees.
And more quality classes on weekends.
Moving to 4 day RTO also is a low cost way to reduce head count, right?
People will self select to find roles at other companies that fit their needs.

Doug Field's team went through a resource reduction during the past 4 weeks. Morale is down. Others are leaving the team for other jobs. Model E isn't making any money, but still lose $50k for each EV Ford produce. Model E loses $1b each Quarter and there are no new products introducing until 2028. Think about it, Model will be shrinking.
Nothing, absolutely nothing.
so why have RTO when whole departments have people who live out of state?

It should involve expansion of Model e and its leadership into other areas of the company. Having more responsibilities under our best leaders makes sense.
