This workplace is toxic. You will be just a number here on a daily game of survivor. I know someone who was an excellent worker and was hired through the Return to Work Program. Her manager at one time falsely claimed there was no room on the team—despite available positions—and even callously remarked that she had her husband to fall back on if she lost her job. The Mgr threw a temper tantrum because she didn't want to be a part of the program nor wanted this person on her team. Should we say Bias Outlook and Jealousy?! To make things worse, this same manager disclosed her disability to the entire team during a meeting, violating her privacy. This was brought up to the HR, the company brushed it under the rug and made the employee feel that it didn't really happen that way that it did when in fact it did. In the end, this was probably one of the reasons she was let go. You dont go to HR about anything! Her boss had already black balled her by giving her a cr-ppy review for absolutely no reason. So it wasn't hard for the boss to make is sound as if the employee wasn't doing a good job.
The team lead also exhibited blatant racism toward coworkers, even posting discriminatory remarks about some of the team members on a public forum without facing any consequences. And yes the company was made aware of it that's how bad it was. All because the public poster was a lifer as well as the boss. The lead would literally make snide comments about the coworker in meetings or ignore them in business group chats yet nothing would be done to correct the behavior while it was happening. Meanwhile, the hardworking employee in the program was let go for no reason other than being in the toxic, biased, and discriminatory environment. She was not given a fair chance to be at the company due to the many roadblocks placed in front of her. In the end she was made out to be the issue, when in fact that wasn't the case. I can say this is fact, the person let go had stellar references from inside and outside of the company. Many of which were shocked that this person was let go. They couldn't believe it, it didn't make sense. The only ill fated reviews was from the team lead and the direct boss and from a couple of people that were fed BS info.
This company favors long-time employees who drain the energy from other newer dedicated workers and will quickly replace them with fresh graduates. Of which by the way do not perform as well as some of the people let go. That's a fact - heard out of the mouth of current workers! They refuse to acknowledge better ways of doing things, even when presented with clear evidence. Instead of valuing talent and innovation, they invest more effort in undermining hardworking individuals than in simply listening. It's disgraceful and unprofessional. The back to work program was supposed to be a wonderful opportunity for hard working educated individuals to be mentored and given a new place to grow. Sadly almost all of the employees have quit or been let go. All of them women who are of a mature age -- not a recent college graduate under the age of 30. The way this company caters to and promotes college graduates is disturbing. Do better!
@e6+1jp8f33mg—Cry me a river. How many people have you cut and laid off before they came after you? You got a package, while others got a slice of pizza at best.
@dr+1jp8f33mg - I was in the Ivory Tower for my 30+ years. They cut just as deeply here. Just because you can't see it doesn't mean it doesn't happen, unfortunately.
If you come, it'll only be temporary. All jobs, except for the ivory tower positions, are being shifted to Mexico. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
Thank you. they really should look at these boards, but then again, most millionaire execs don't care
Duh! *
