Malta promotions

If not for attending the Malta promotion ceremony I would have no idea my coworkers were also promoted. Why is it a secret, promotions can be justified so it should be shared in email celebration to entire company.

Absolutely a shame.
6 weeks before evals are due, the SMs and some of the +2 meet. They have a roundtable as a department to discuss top promos and low performers. The rest is the middle.
If manager says I'd like to promote this person, the rest say yes or no or offer reasons for or against. Majority rules.
Then the SM or Manager spends the next 4 weeks prepping the evaluation to make it substantial enough to pass the GM review on promos.
HR and the Manager also work on the low performers, sorry insufficient performers with a combo of either a potential package or a PIP.
There has always been a ~8~12 % for both high and low performers per module.
Of course it's not written anywhere but an HR doc that's controlled, but it's there.

Because many qualified people don’t get the promotions they deserve. They keep them quiet to keep people from seeing the flaws in the merit system.

GF is a so morally bankrupt but hides behind a DEI shield. It’s really ironic. And isn’t DEI illegal now?? It’s so twisted and Convoluted at this point. But make no mistake what does on at GF is not kosher.

More DEI promotions .... make sure statistics meet expectations needed!! Don't promote the best, promote to make the distributions work out. Is there anything here at GF we do great? Or is everyone here just collecting a paycheck and looking for better opportunities??

It Is not a secret but also not very well celebrated because a lot of the promotions aren’t justifiable under a bit of scrutiny. There is a lot of favoritism and cronyism. The merit system itself (and is well documented) to be a fake sham facade. What they tell us and what they have down on paper is not really how it works. Ask a higher level leader who might have some confidence with. The system they have or how they tell us it works is fake and not really how it truly works.
