@hq
Copy & paste your note and send it over to your Senstor! His office need to know that.
I did that, got a reply. More tax payers complain, more likely action to be taken

@dy folks working in India are a bunch of newbies and don't have experience or skills. They come to GF to get a year or two experience and then leave. There is no mission in India which has put GF in a leadership position because there are no experienced people working there just newbies!!!

Honestly, no one here really does the actual work — it’s mostly just a bunch of VP, directors and managers who just spend their time managing something

"Indian workers outporm U.S. workers"

Start your own company and compete then like TSMC and Samsung.

There's a growing concern that they're sending only low-quality offshore resources particularly from India without real investment in quality or long-term collaboration.

The shut down was discussed along with the funding being suspended a while ago.

Any idea if they are planning to shut down Fab9 in Vermont?

If you're from the US, being frustrated about GF shifting labor to low cost geos while getting US government funding makes sense. It's painful to see good, experienced folks you've worked with for years get let go while the company announces your tax dollars are going to it. But if you're applauding that a tech hub, which would have helped provide Vermonters job skills directly related to them getting jobs at Fab 9 and other local design houses and providing funding for a public state of the art research facility to increase GaN innovation locally is getting its funding yanked - you might want to reevaluate where your frustration lies. This is a loss for Vermont and Vermonters and will not help GF build and maintain a technical lead in GaN (thus further improving job security in Vermont).

All American are paying hard-earned tax money that ends up going to India and Singapore labor? Does that make any sense?
So it's only considered an American company when it's receiving free money from US?

I feel that GF took chip act money under false pretense. They moved 90% of test from fab9 overseas just after accepting the money then laid off most of the employees.
Just not right or fair to tax payers or employees
