Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

Massive Layoffs Coming soon

dont be fooled by the stock price. The shareholders will never be sastisfied and will just want more, its human nature. Keep a close eye on the numbers graph, they keep pushing the expection further and further when a goal is reached. PSR is not even close to being over, and anyone can see low level management is on the chopping block. S—s because alot of managers are pretty cool. sure there are some that are so out of touch with reality, but its not there fault they were brainwashed, UP has plenty of psychological warfare tactics they use. Industrial psychology is big business and UP pays them well.

Layoffs have been happening since LF took over... he only cares about his stockholders, not his employees. He loves to ruin people's lives and fill his pockets and his stockholder's pockets with all the greed he can stuff into them. And about managers doing their reports - the managers are having their employees do their reports because they don't know how to do them and so they can take credit for them. Absolute worthless leadership.

My prediction.....first of the year Venna and Fritz cash out with a bunch of others, stock plummets, some may return, contractors will make millions, and operating ratio will go up to 70.

Just wait until those that have massive amounts of stock start selling out their shares and the bag holders left buying in are in for a rude awakening. @dwv is right they’ve lost both long term paying customers and even as oxymoronic as it sounds valuable employees. PSR is just as stated before a cash grab at the cost of ruining a company and those profiting will be long gone for the rebuild. The magic 55 OTR will never be sustainable (if even reached), they’ll hack and slash everything until the government steps in and stops them or they’ll merge with another/other company’s to create one of two cross continental companies for shipping via rail. The end game here is which will happen first and at the cost of how many families and communities that get affected by the job losses and income that the company paid out to be there.

@OP “Massive” layoffs have been happening since October of 2018. You’re about two years late to the conversation on this.

Good luck to you and everyone else who has been (or will be ) worked-over by UP.

Your right! All PSR is running a smaller volume railroad all the way around. Yet there is no room for error like there was pre PSR. The ones pulling the strings and that have made the millions will be long gone when the bad times come!

Listen, the so-called layoffs have been happening for a while now. The company has already cut so deep in spots that they've had to call people back to get things moving again. If you read the news, then you'd know about a letter sent to them asking about service problems and personnel availability issues. We need to be real about this and ask ourselves how far do you really think they can push this before it falls apart. It s—s to hear about anyone losing their jobs, and that goes for management as well. The PSR model was strictly designed for layoffs and terminations, to decrease expenses and to improve the OR. We should all know that by now. The company makes money by doing business obviously. They also made money by eliminating thousands of jobs. Their actual revenue never actually went up. The downside is that they have lost business in the process as well. Lost business is lost prifit. Cutting jobs to increase profit only masks the issue of lost revenue. I dont care what anyone says about this, and are more than welcome to down vote all they want. You can look up their numbers and see it for yourself.
