Thread regarding Gainwell Technologies layoffs

Keep doing nothing and making money or get out?

Workflow is glacial on my team; management excels at doing nothing until the last minute and dumping it on us to sort out. For the past year, my transition has been delayed to the subsection I'm supposed to be working in and neither they nor the team I'm currently assisting in the (now endless) interim seem to really care about what's going on. So, I do basically nothing every day while my emails and other communication get ignored as management tells me they're "trying" to find me work.

For a while it felt nice to get paid as well as I do for doing nothing but my conscience is starting to take over and I have to wonder if things slowing down is indicative of some larger change in the company. I also feel completely insecure with this position and haven't really grown my skills like I expected to working here. I'm starting to worry if I've made myself unappealing to other employers by riding it out and collecting essentially free money hoping that something changes even though I know nothing ever will.

Alpha - I would but he's a bigger tu-d. I've been trying to get out since the beginning of the year but it's tough out there.

@dq+1jqskzb87 : it's one or more of the following: a. Leaders are on a power trip; i.e. small pond, they're the big fish and they need their circle to maintain the status quo. b. Leaders are too lazy or out of touch to train new supervisors in current processes. c. The contract requires a specific role that's hard to source and they can't let someone go. d. They're on a go-to green plan and don't want to upset the client any further. It happens whether the account was DXC, HMS or Molina.

The state accounts treat the employees like they're made of dirt, but they horde those same people like they were made of gold
