Thread regarding GE Aviation layoffs

My New Jobs S---s

For those of you who are fortunate to keep your G.E. Aviation jobs please be thankful. It s—s on the other side. I work harder and make way less and I don't have a voice that anyone cares about. Don't take your job for granted unless you have a backup plan that doesn't include working for another manufacturing company. I didn't realize how good I had it. 9 months later and it still s—s out here.

I worked for GE subsidiary for 34 years , When GE acquired our division they let it along for about one year then they started to send their own leaders ( Plant Manager, HR and Controller) . The issues started in the next wave management where they sent in one of their Crotonville hot shots that no experience and when they made decisions it was what was best for them not what was best for company anyone else. One of the best days of my career watching one of young directors pack her car as she was sent back where she came from. " GE only works for a select few ." They need to get back to the basics and do more long range planning and get the company back on track.

Ahh yes, you see the pattern here now!! HR admins are monitoring the board! Probably looking for their next position after 12 months on the job. No continuity. You got me going now BABY.
"This is xx HR person who was at xx company for 12 months and now he/she is here!! Let's welcome him/her!!" you get the jist.
You GE folks looking forward to your raises...? When?? July? Working your unpaid OT like a good soldier?
A former neighbor once said, "Believe you me, I GAVE at GE" - ohhh yes you did.
C'mon folks, it's not that bad really. I'm online right now buying Immelt's new book. Is there a part in there that talks about the two jets and the lobster dinners? CAN'T WAIT -let's see if my raise can allow me to buy it.

Anyone notice how all positive experiences outside GE and negative inside GE are voted down? Attrition is at an all time high and layoffs have become the norm. Morale is at an all time low and nobody can make the connection.

Another example of success theater! GE on Glassdoor and The Layoff with fake posts!

Why? Why?? Simply put, it's a warning shot for folks to not drink the Kool-Aid, whatever you do. Keep your eyes open. Not sure where you see lies, genius. There are none.

If you got it made now and you make soooo much more money now that you don't work at G.E. Since it was a culture shock because it was so dry with no smiles....Why are you on this board reading and commenting if G.E. is a waste of your past. I see lies all in that post. Thanks for trying though.

That's funny, I had culture shock when I started working there. Dry environment, very little smiling or laughter in the workplace. Stifling. I make more money now than I ever did there. Some older folks are there to soak up every nugget of that pension and get out. And btw, stop making sausage with every 'new' product and actually innovate.

I'm reading these comments on this post and I am almost laughing. All this talk about the company doesn't care about you. Well you should never apply for any job if you are looking for cares. I tell you what I cared about...getting paid. I made over $100,000 every year I was there with just a little overtime. I didn't care if anyone loved me when I got paid. I do miss working there because of the money. Money Money Money...That's all I CARE about!

I took the layoff and loving life. Yes the culture is way different in the real world. But the real corporate world is just as greedy as GE. You see GE’s culture puts out the perception that is cares. Same with the union but in hindsight no one does, not one job, company or corporation. They smile agree blow smoke up your rear then stab you in the back! That’s what America comes down to these days. High healthcare, low wages no Covid hazard pay. It’s a joke! Some states even have a rule that a company can let you go for no reason. Now how American is that?

Hey Troll accuser...Did you know that G.E. layoffs are based on seniority and not how much experience you have or how much a** you kiss....YOU ARE THE TROLL

F’ing corporate troll!

Was laid off earlier this year, and also had years of experience prior to GE. GE is not normal- it’s abusive, s-xist, racist and cut throat. The company is run by a culture of privileged, pampered leadership program losers who layoff people with skills because they are a threat.

Getting let go was the best thing that happened to me. Take a package with joy and enjoy your time finding a place that values you- most companies do a far better job at this.

@dps+19AZQYrY....No he doesn't have a job because there isn't enough work. Just like any other company that loses business. The reason why we have jobs is because of seniority and the layoff didn't get to us at the moment. When he or she was employed their voice was heard and that had nothing to do with being employed. You are just wrong in your statement period

What makes you think anybody at GE cared about your voice? If they did, you would still have a job. You’re just a number to them, that’s the GE way

That's too bad. People don't realize how good they got it compared to others..most the started their careers right out of the gate at GE haven't really worked for a living and they take their job for granted. I hope you aren't from the ILM shop because if so aint nobody coming back this year. Keep looking for better jobs..they are out there even if you have to change careers.
