@OP. A definite "No" Jacob is doing a good job to bring illumina to stand from present kneeling caused not by him.

Not forgetting the site management team needs to be reeled in and held accountable for bleeding illumina through their ineffective management.

The situation will not change for the better till the day the bleeding of illumina resources at site level is also stopped.

Some department in APAC is swarm with cronies from the ineffective management team and needs urgent addressing.

Why MVO. It isn’t like PB is in great shape right now either.

As much as I think MVO or some of the other Jay era executives could help, I don't think any of them would want to touch this mess with a 10 foot pole!

How do we get MVO to come clean up this mess?

Who is this person that keeps spelling Jacob as "Jakob"?

Who else would have wanted the job, other than someone for whom it would be a step up? Very few established CEOs would have wanted to tackle such a grease-fire requiring years to turn it around (if even possible). And even fewer of them would have made any sense for the role. From the old guard, nobody was taking it. Jay had health concerns. Same with Tristan. Christian was embedded at PacBio and almost certainly had a non-compete agreement. Stapley didn’t want it (I know this for a fact). MvO is great but likely wouldn’t have been tapped for it. Omead was the most logical choice after Jay. I assume he couldn’t do it or didn’t want to. Had Jay been able to take it, the market cap would have gained billions overnight. But that wasn’t happening. So, it was a search for an unknown. Arrive Jakob. A very underwhelming selection but not surprising from the Board that guided this company into the tank by enabling Francis for many years.

Yes!

He doesn’t have the requisite skill set to manage this company out of this situation we find ourselves in.

Remember. He wasn’t first choice. Why we settled is beyond me!
