Thread regarding T-Mobile layoffs

Here’s the deal RNE&O…

This is what I heard from a friend who is close with a VP as well as others. We’ve all seen it happening at this point but here’s the bullets:

  • 5-12% of all of RNE&O will be laid off
  • Mainly at the RVPs discretion
  • Sprint, NOC, and National are the most at risk
  • This will not be the only round, will continue in the coming quarters
  • Performance is a factor though I’ve also heard it isn’t and that it’s more murky (business/financial)

I was one of the many laid off. We were told it was for organizational restructuring, mostly to eliminate tasks that were being done in duplicate between old Sprint and old Magenta. There was no consideration to move employees into other needs within the company. It was just a number that they needed to cut and no review of what those current jobs were doing. In some cases, there were employees that were supporting specific types of products that no other groups were supporting. So now, those products have no support.

It really isn't 'mostly Sorint'. It is all based on the manager and director. The only Sprint person let go where I worked wanted to go anyway. Now he just leaves with a big check to help relocate to where he wants to go

@dli+1iunYI3x You’re correct about 22K. The goal is to get from 75K to 53K FTE headcount. Won’t all be through “restructuring.” They’re leaning on attrition too. It’s been a mix of legacy yellow and legacy magenta. It’s not a breach of the merger agreement.

RNE&O is Regional Network Engineering & Operations. Anyone under Ulf Ewaldsson basically. Other tech orgs are being cut too but this is what I heard about RNE&O…

My friend who lives with me was with Sprint and was told last night him and 22,000 other employees are being layd off. Mostly old Sprint employees. Is this a breach of the agreement for purchase of Sprint?
