Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Promoted to PE, is my package ok?

Just got promoted to PE:
Base 219k
Apb target 21% (46k)
Rsu target 96k

Does this make sense?

OP is a fab technician contractor dreaming to be promoted to PE when everyone else blue badge got layoff notices.

Troll, why do you need to ask if your compensation is correct if you are an employee and really just got promoted?

For one time i will agree with the "I don't believe" poster. OP is not a PE and a PE getting 400K is also the same OP trying to get numbers

I don't believe OP is a PE, or even has a degree.

@dy yes!!! Same problems they face in personal lives with a ugly spouse. If you were better you would have a better spouse

All those shocked at what OP as a PE got or other PEs get i wonder what grade and salary you are at. Ever wonder if you were worth more you have got it by now or moved elsewhere? Intel is full of underachievers

All those surprised about that package (for OP: it's not bad!) you really demonstrate that either you are at the lowest levels in the company with any talent or skills to grow, or are just trolls, or simply people with no idea of the tech industry.

Well if you really do make that, we’re in trouble, as you don’t even know how much you should be getting paid. I’m assuming you’re another useless body at intel as well.

Salaries need to be halved across the entire company to compete with TSMC.

If this true - we just stumbled upon how to save Intel. No layoffs. But a complete overhaul of compensation and salary is needed. These numbers are ridiculous and significantly above the industry average. But paying everyone less and more reasonable salaries inline with the industry - Intel can be saved.

@dj OP mentioned nowhere of package. OP was referring to their PE compensation package. Even the laid off and retirees will not be getting a generous package this time around. LBT won't allow

Wow, I can't believe this post will generate this much hate.
Just wanted to get a perspective of where I stand.

Seesh

Thanks to all who answered seriously, I think it might be my field that has significantly lower value, unfortunately.

Fu ck you OP trolling. Only people who are going to retire or being laid off can get a package. You don’t get a package after a promotion. You are a foolish a-s hole.

No wonder we have no money and these folks are all failing us. They need to go. They drove us to this bad spot. They are ki-ling Intel! Their work just plain su-ks and recent results prove this. No way in he-l they get this kind of money anywhere else. Not one place will pay the same. Not one. This is boinkers. PE title is also meaningless outside of Intel

@de none of this will matter after July 1st. The only thing is you can use your new pay as a negotiation in your next job. Intel is not paying these high pay anymore except for the esteemed VPs and Directors

@ce+1 This is a troll post from the PE troll.

Likely most of the ridiculous responses are from the same person.

People are so gullible.

Grade 10 in NEX AI here and base comp is around 320K. In California. At Intel for 2 years. RSUs and bonus seem to be the same across the grade and geo.
Is CCG a higher paying org?

Any 10+ years PEs probably earn 500K here in the bay area 😀. How many such exist? And how about Directors that do next to nothing

It’s low. Even PDK engineers at Oregon has ~220k with 100% comp ratio

Go to levels.fyi

400K is not normal for a PE.

When I was grade 9 as a ML architect, my base salary was $245k in Oregon. Left intel 2 years ago. It seems your base salary is very low if you are a software or AI/ML architect. There are a lot of demands outside Intel. Make sure you should know your stuffs before you leave. No BS, No PowerPoint but know how to build stuffs. Otherwise, stay where you are!!

If this is true you proved that you are arrogant enough for the PE role by bragging about it on a layoff site.

This is why we are going bankrupt. 420k ?! Nearly half a million??? And there’s 100s of people in this rank. This really makes sense now why we are in dire straights. This is insane. It can’t be true

@ap First off congratulations. 5 years is a long time to be in 1 grade but nothing surprises me here at Intel.
I am a Grade 10 in Santa Clara CA. I joined CCG just less than 2 years ago and base is around 420K. RSUs and APB match yours.
Hope this helps with your compensation calculation

Yes, engineering.
I'm 40 years old, 9 years in the company, been grade 9 for 5 (long years).
And yes, it's 96k annually.

RSUs and APB looks standard across PE GL10. RSUs may grow with performance reviews over time.
Base pay for same level in bay area is above 400K

@a8 50% of those companies is stock. Can't help if Intel stock is garbage. The base pay looks decent for Oregon if non engineering

And OP you won't ever hit the full APB either

What a joke. PE in most companies would make $800k a year. Even in Oregon this is low. Total comp should in Oregon should be > $500k/year. Feel very sorry for you.
