Bill Ford and Alexandra Ford English to Speak at the 2025 Mackinac Policy Conference

Executive Chair of Ford Motor Company, Bill Ford, and his daughter and Ford Board member, Alexandra Ford English, have been added to the agenda for the 2025 Mackinac Policy Conference. In a moderated conversation, they will discuss issues shaping the automotive industry, the importance of a company’s core values in navigating uncertainty, strategies for attracting and retaining talent in Michigan, and the importance of community investment.

Under Bill Ford’s leadership, Ford Motor Company has advanced groundbreaking sustainability initiatives, accelerated efforts to be the most trusted provider of vehicle and mobility services, and taken aggressive steps to improve the efficiency and focus of its traditional automotive business.

In 2018, he championed the acquisition of the iconic Michigan Central building in Detroit’s historic Corktown neighborhood, which opened to the public in 2024. What was once a former railroad station is now the centerpiece of a vibrant new innovation campus where Ford and diverse partners are working on solving challenges at the intersection of mobility and society.

Alexandra Ford English has served on the Board of Directors at Ford Motor Company since May 2021. Before joining the Board, English worked in various roles at Ford, focusing on strategy, mobility, and brand development. Most recently, she served as the global brand merchandising director, where she worked to grow Ford’s lifestyle merchandise by leveraging the company’s brand heritage, iconic vehicles, and motorsports legacy.

You mean segregation and culture misappropriation causing severe targeting and undermining careers and covertly letting abuse persist since outside lens perceives it as friendly fire and not discrimination? Ok.👌

Will they be pushing DEI or is that whole disaster over now?

Maybe by May 27 there will be some new scamdemic or racist cop story brewed up that lets them go back to their true woke love.

Failed corrupt leadership with no credibility.

“The 2025 Mackinac Policy Conference will focus on Michigan’s Equation for Impact where vision and tools meet action to make an impact that ensures our continued progress.

Michigan will thrive when we define a clear vision for a better future for our people, businesses, and the environment. Michigan will grow when we invest in tools, technologies, and infrastructure. Michigan will prosper when partnerships are built that overcome barriers and drive meaningful action.

Smart policies must focus on attracting, retaining, and developing talent. Talent is the catalyst in Michigan’s equation for impact. Talent will ensure our competitiveness into the next decade and beyond.“

Let’s introduce bill ford to speak on this topic to other affluent non-builders.

Is talent in the room? Is the talent speaking at the dinner? Are they at a table? What shape is the table? Is the food “busting”?

Delusional conference, where they see each other as talent. The reason talent isn’t found is because everyone speaks for them and ignores what they say and need in the opportune moments

Whitmer, the philosopher said “if you are not on at table, you are on the menu”. I guess we got an echo chamber. 5k to be in the room, I wonder the price for siting down? Ethics? Virtue signaling?

I’m sick and tired of the jokes towards bill ford and Jim Farley. They don’t deserve it. Do you see all the good they do? Look at all the press they get on their hard work and efforts. Look at all the good. It says good things. Unlike skepticism in these sort thread comments.

I’m not sure I understand? Ford wants the community to invest?

I agree that they are the ones who have credentials for attracting and retaining talent in Michigan? The strategies however aren’t ethical and are misleading. I’m not sure we should champion these individuals to influence policy. We should take a closer look at their specific strategies for “attracting” and “retaining” talent in Michigan and identify if it is “positive sum” for both parties.

What societal problems are they focused on? I’m confused and need some help understanding. Are they innovating problems or solving them? What core values is being referred to here that Ford carries? I’m not looking for jokes please I’m genuinely trying to engage and learn.

Perhaps we should look at who endorsed them to the 2025 Mackinac Policy Conference list, maybe they can address these inquiries?
