We are better off than the other oil companies???? Seriously? CVX and Total are down yes, but only a fraction of how far XOM has fallen. And we are still in free fall, while others are stabilizing somewhat. Yes, there are some good assets in our portfolio, but the culture, work processes, bloated management ranks, destruction of any trust within the company, obsession with meaningless activities and programs, corrupt and illegitimate ranking system, etc. will do ongoing damage to the company even when demand and prices pick up. Tens of thousands of employees worked countless years to build what was once seen as the premier company not only in the O&G industry, but across industries worldwide. And yet our current management cannot even manage a 6 month crisis? We should have been picking off weak companies in the market and building our base, but instead, if anyone wanted us, we would be a hostile acquisition target. The lifetime savings of so many shareholders and former employees have been destroyed, along with the careers and family lives of thousands of current employees. We all see the iceberg ahead, but management is still sipping wine and saying no worries, we are fine, you are privileged to simply be in our presence. Fall of an empire, being destroyed from within.
Yield up to 10% per year but stock will drop another 30% during the same time. Seems like a screw deal.
@dcm+17i8JVBt lamest thing I’ve heard all day
Oil and gas is old school, the World is changing. Let’s invest in renewables or batteries.
Quite honestly, given the situation and looking at the other companies, Darren Woods 's message was not bad... I know everyone of us is concerned (for various reasons) .... otherwise we will not be here... but the truth is the situation cannot be put on just a few people's shoulder... I am not saying the "we are in this together".... but i you may have some doubt in our top leadership teams... that does not mean we should loose trust and hope... I do believe things are tough...but comparing to others even CVX, shell, BP, COP... we are relatively better ....the important thing is try not to panic and trust in our core fundamentals ...although things are ugly.... but we are better that the others...just read other competitor's board here.... even in CVX there was a comment and frustration about a poem by the LTs over there... Dareen Wood can steer our ship through these waters, his message (although very late) was encouraging and not bad at all ...it's not a joke and not it's easy... our jobs are at risks... but that's the bitter truth of current affairs of our industry....
Exxonmobile? New mobile phone company? Company changing direction from oil and gas to mobile phone?
And he uses the word “opportunities”... as in the upcoming layoffs are opportunities . Every paragraph is a bunch of words that are 🤮🥴
