@rv the only isps ive heard of in our division, a primarily female one, were men.
250 ISPs
400 from Ops let go pre Enterprise Reimagined
550 VSPs
Brings us to 1200 people gone. That doesn't count the demotions. And the people forced into bad situations in an attempt to make them quit.
The layoff numbers posted in St Louis news outlets seemed lower than anticipated?
Lots of layoffs, demotions, and pay cuts. Mostly targeted the female population. Maybe this firm will win “worst place to work” for 2025 and 2026.
@e4 amen!
Edward jones is now no better than wells Fargo.
@cf 10 min zoom meeting schedule 15 mins prior with hr person present very robotic and scripted message being read by GP. Same grade, same salary, same responsibilities but a change position (demotion). Told i need to accept by Monday what exactly am I accepting I have no email or anything In writing to the changes that haven’t changed except for title?? What am I agreeing to?? The same work, same pay but lower title??? And at least I have a job….thats the most common answer I get..and you’re right at least I have a job but there is no engagement, low morale and no motivation to do any work that is outside of my responsibility. There will be no hands up for project work, committees or group outings for “team building”. EJ you have shown how little you care about ppl and the firms culture all you care about is $$$$ so a great big 🖕🏻. Counting hours down to my retirement at a place I loved to come to everyday to the he-l it is now.
@cs St. Louis? Jones isn’t located in the city of St. Louis. Should prob know where the office is located if you’re looking to stick around.
@dz yeah… and they’ve since bought and built a bunch of buildings since 2018. You don’t work here anymore? Gtfoh.
@e0 A demotion is probably apart of the natural attrition plan. A lot of people will begin looking for employment outside of the firm.
My thoughts are with everyone who has lost their job.
I faced a grade demotion and a salary reduction myself. I'm curious how many others are in the same boat—it feels like a shady strategy to exploit employees by expecting us to do more while paying less.
The people talking about WFH v. office have no idea what they're talking about. I worked for Jones from 2013-2016 and even back then they were a leader in sending their operations people home to save money. Their backoffice office at 270 Progress was mostly empty and entire teams like Cash Disbursements etc. were remote except for the seasonal temps.
@dx d9 here. No I meant digital, not product. A lot of us in tech/digital have not heard anything yet.
@d9 when you say digital, do you mean product?
@dv cutting access immediately is pretty standard for involuntary separation. Risk management 101.
Disgruntled employees at best aren’t going to work and at worst will sabotage or steal.
I’m pretty sure they are cutting access immediately. Two people in my area had a meeting and were communicating with us before the meeting but we have heard nothing from them since their meeting.
@dp I was told our GP would call us no matter what. Then our boss would get an email of our fate. And we get the email to accept our fate or go ISP.
@dp I thought all emails were going out at the end of the day tomorrow.
@dd Thank you for confirming. Sorry all to stay away from the importance of this thread. Since it was brought up just wanted to ask the question.
@OP Has anyone received an email notification?
Once GPs have communicated all ISPs, I wish they would send a “you are safe” email and more to come in 1:1.
But they won’t do it. I have a feeling GPs get a cheap thrill knowing our fates and making us wait as long as they can. I think they rather enjoy the dramatic flourish of letting us know 1:1 that we the mere peasants are safe.
@dh you can always call into the zoom on your phone. You wouldn't have video, but at least audio.
@dh maybe call your boss and let them know. Maybe they will send to your personal email your zoom in this case.
@dh WTF. No meeting, no phone call, just locked out? That's crazy.
@de Digital Division. No warning, access cut off 2 hours before the scheduled meeting and no way to get to the meeting now
@da I think Kristin, Lisa, and Suzan drew a circle on a map with a sharpie like Trump did that one time with a that hurricane trajectory map.
@dc thank you for posting. Sorry you’re impacted.
@dc dang, I’m sorry to hear that. What division are you in?
@da it's zip codes. They look at the commute time from the center of the zip code. My zip is big and I live in the far side. I could actually move closer to the office into the next zip code but be outside the range.
I just lost all access. I had a 15 minute meeting with GP/HR scheduled for the 4pm hour and I noticed outlook not working, then my citrix disabled. No ability to get back on for other documents. Act fast
@cm There is literally no office to go into.
Branch offices don’t have room for HBAs
@d6 if you're within the commutable distance, have they not made you come in yet? By the way does anyone know what the commutable distance actually is...zip codes like stated on the company site, 1 hour, or 50 miles? I always thought it was zip codes since that's what's posted but then I've heard 1 hour and 50 miles thrown around by a couple of people.
Anybody have any updates? Still really quiet in digital.
@OP Sorry, meant Black Monday 2
@OP Should you start a Black Friday 2 so we can get back to what’s happening today?
@cq replying to: I wouldn't have taken this sh!tty job if it wasn't fully remote. Go pound sand (in the office) please.
SAME! I would have been long gone if I had to deal with this sh-t company in person. And I will. I am close enough to have to go into the office if they make us… and Bye!
But that’s their plan, more ways to have curd without having to layoff - just plan RTO. It’ll happen next year. Just watch!
@cs the firm was successful prior to remote. Could be again. Plenty of talent to go around. Clearly you are d-mb and do not realize that home office is sitting in St. Louis County- not a shrinking demographic, actually.
Can we please stop arguing about HBA vs RTO? Many of us will not have jobs by tomorrow.
Let’s focus this thread on updates pertaining to layoffs so we can learn from each other and be better prepared for what is to come in the next couple of days?
@d1 It's also promotions/demotions or for FUNDAMENTAL changes to your role. If there are minor changes to your current role, you likely won't get a 1:1.
@cp mad at the wrong people, bud.
Are GP + HR 1:1 only for isp? Or has anyone had GP + HR 1:1 for role change or promotion?
