I don’t believe this is truly an accountability issue. If anything, “accountability” has become a buzzword in recent years—and in many ways, we’ve made real progress in how we define and track our objectives.

The real issue is culture.

Accountability has been pushed down the ladder, while those at the top distance themselves from it. This isn’t the Ford many of us remember—a place where teams worked together and people felt like they belonged.

The Ford I knew was a place where you could pick up the phone and resolve an issue directly. Today, we rely on systems to provide answers. That’s not culture—that’s machinery.

The culture that once brought people together and found a way when things got tough—that spirit feels like it’s disappeared. And honestly, I don’t count on it coming back.

The business world isn’t black and white—and the real value we used to provide was in understanding everything that lived in the gray.

Competitive advantage doesn’t come from AI or rigid processes alone. It comes from truly understanding the business landscape and building a culture rooted in problem-solving, collaboration, and human connection—a sense of home that inspires loyalty.

@hg You write beautifully, but respectfully I don’t think the issue is accountability, it’s the execution. Management has become so dedicated to accountability, they’ve forgotten the people factor, endlessly looping because the process is wrong, not the people. Ford has become so clinical in the last five years that they’ve forgotten what made ford great in the first place. People dedicated to fixing problems collaboratively, enabled by a sense of collective openness and communication. Those that have survived and thrived are no longer those same people, they’re the political players and corporate process bureacrats, that escape accountability without heart or desire to fix the root of the issue.
This spirit and culture we once had is what has always pulled us through tough times, I hope it’s not so far gone at this point that we have doomed ourselves to a business case analysis in a textbook in the near future.
I for one am trying to focus on the better years that are now long gone, not what this place has ki-led inside of me.
People at their core are generally good here, and we’re all just trying to get through these times together whether people are open to it or not.

@hg I for one am trying to remember the better days where people were friendly, issues were solved through collaboration, a bit of personality and openness with everyone created a sense of home and loyalty.
Ford always had a way in finding a way out of a jam, not everything was perfect, but back then people weren’t so corporate it felt like you were sitting in a clinic run by legal bureaucrats who moonlight as politicians. I worry the next downturn the company won’t be so lucky to have that loyalty and dedication to persevere.
I’m trying to take stock of all that I’ve done for the company, and what they’ve given me in return that’s positive, as opposed what they’ve destroyed in me. This keeps me going just until long enough they decide they’ve had enough.

The fact that so many of us are still here talking about it speaks to our rebellious spirit.
These posts are how we keep the truth alive. They reveal a broken system—where layoffs were unjust and toxic managers deflected blame, hoping once again to escape accountability.

We know Ford hasn’t fixed anything and is bound to fail again under the same leadership that caused the FNV4 collapse.
Meanwhile, the same jokers are still drinking from coolers at their private desks.
It doesn’t work like that. We have the right to speak up and demand real accountability.
We have nothing to lose anyway. We are no longer at Ford.

This is false. There is a big one coming. But it'll will be later in the summer. As manufacturing returns due to tariffs, salaried jobs are going to LCCs. You cannot tariff salaried labor....
