My buddy works here and is a programmer I'm actually worried because he doesn't talk to much does anyone have any actual news or is it a bunch of doom saying

Being afraid is a silly thing I get people depend on you but you have to pivot and be strong if you're not find someone you know is. Everything is on the line right now and if we don't depend on each other and give in to fear it's over

@d2 well said. People need to understand AI hasn't even entered the picture yet. Current layoffs are still part of the fraud and waste initiative, if you know what I mean.

@OP Every week they are trimming. Most companies are trying to pivot to AI. Think about manufacturing and the transition to modernization. Way less people needed on the lines because of automation and technology. Same evolution is happening in IT. It’s a must to stay competitive. Staying relevant is always part of a job so watching the ecosystem in an industry can be beneficial. See what changes are coming and grow with life. The people who refused Common Core in education are probably those on the struggle bus. We are advancing so quickly but people want to live in the past.
