Thread regarding GlobalFoundries layoffs

A way to improve this company

I know I shouldn't have any high hopes, but I would like to see improvements here. After all, I have worked in this company for too long and it used to be really nice to work here.
I am thinking about what would be the best ways to improve this company. What do you think?

GF has nothing positive left as most of talent is gone. It used to boast to have some of the best in industry. Today agar we have are junks, incompetent and parasites who are just eating the remains of GF . End is soon.

GF wastes so much money on projects like IT project Phoenix and development project Falcon, millions get put into these projects and nothing ever comes out for a return. Then the sponsoring execs like Reeder leave and the project gets cancelled, back to the drawing board with a new project that again wastes millions of dollars, the cycle continues to repeat!! GF should just license all techs, transfer them into the various fabs, do no development and accept being a bottom feeder foundry, tier 4 or 5 since they aren't willing to invest in the talent and overall development to do things the right way to be successful. Between wasting money on these projects like Phoenix and Falcon and not willing to invest in enough skilled resources the future looks very bleak for GF!!!

OP, don’t listen to these whiners and mentally-obsessed cretins, and do what works best for you. Work ethic creates an ever-improving lifestyle, and those who know that have been rewarded handsomely by GF. There is a reason why GF keeps growing without these nut jobs that frequent this site.

It’s easier to improve yourself by leaving GF for a better company with better values and better direction. GF is an empty company. By that I mean, it’s owned (majority stakeholder) Mubadala • Abu Dhabi's state investment fund. Think about that for a moment. GF is merely an asset owned by a foreign government. Yes it went public, but only 25% of the stock is available for purchase. GF continue to invest heavily in Bangalore, Asia and Europe. They’ve closed 1 of 3 fabs in the US. The layoffs consisted mainly of US workers. Do you honestly think GF gives a rats a— about American workers? SLT continues to treat GF as an ATM, they are awarding themselves stock and dumping it. TC and DR both cashed out some major positions, while they couldn’t even deliver a measly 2% raise on time as promised. They laid off a good chunk of staff and expect you to continue and in many cases do more work. They continue to offshore jobs and departments. Let’s be honest, it’s not as profitable to produce semiconductors in the US. GF is maintaining the facade of a US manufacturing presence in the hopes of getting CHIPS ACT funding. If they do get CHiPS act money they will funnel that to overseas operations somehow. As I type this, I can only imagine TC and his entourage dining on steaks and $500 bottles of wine, while you agonize at the very thought of having to swipe your badge tomorrow morning knowing full well. there is no future for yourself at GF

Agree with @czj+1mOy8hgV

It’s lost hope. Don’t buy into the “potential,” and promises. They never come at Globalfoundries. It’s easy to sucked in and waiting for the pay off. But at Globalfoundries it’s wiser to just cut your losses and invested time

Need to replace most Senior Directors, all VPs, all SVPs, CEO, start fresh with a new game plan and culture, only way to fix things. These current execs are clueless!!

Sorry, but you’re living in a fantasy world if you think anything will improve at GF. The fact that you think it’s possible means you haven’t worked there long enough to know better. The only way to improve your work experience is to quit and go work for a better company.
