Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Tired of getting denied for trainings

They always have "no budget"

No one goes to conferences, no one does anything to really push their career.

This company is just full of excuses for one thing another.

Im tired and done stagnating my career here.

Im getting off the titanic; everyone else should too but lets be honest if you are here for more than 5 years, you are already at the dead end of your career and everyone knows it

@vr Some people pay good money for that.

No money for upskilling the workforce but plenty for consultants to tell the VPs what they should already know. Ford is cooked.

@nb I don't know why you are getting downvoted, I was able to get some reimbursements through it

@OP There is a new program called TSIP that covers up to $6000 per year of tuition reimbursement, online courses, professional certifications, licensing exams, etc. The only requirement to be eligible is that you discuss with your supervisor how they would help your career. The full details are on Life@Ford. Has anyone tried getting reimbursed by this?

That's your problem with your thinking(?) lack thereof. There is no "LEARNING". Just attempted blind conformist brain washing/compliance. Let's get started. Purse your lips and.... (Only swallowing allowed).

Pfft! You people make enough to pay for your own training! If you need to learn Python, there are community colleges all over SE Michigan. Also, you can do this training after work hours and on weekends. You could even take PTO to do it. You should feel lucky that Ford hired you and pays you enough to pay for your own training and you should do it for the good of the company.

@cy

If it's a personal interest like cooking or bass guitar, sure. If it's to do better for Ford, not a chance. So they can hold onto all that big money and I'll remain a mediocre worker struggling without support.

Still getting those checks either way, tho.

If you want training, you can pay for it yourself. Ford is not a charity.

If you came to Ford because you wanted to innovate….man, what a let down. Wrong company.

The purpose of Ford is to milk the ICE COW and to bilk the USG for EVs in order to ensure the Ford Family’s checks keep coming. This is their North Star, regardless of what they say.
