I posted about an engineer tipping us off on layoffs next week by his boss. I said take it with a gain of salt. This forum deletes my post automatically, again. Something is up.

I heard they're letting go of 90% of Splunk Eng
....to wildly overspend on an acquisition in a sideways market segment, then just cut it to the bone....wow, just wow
and all this while we are still in a tech bubble (yesterday notwithstanding)
what happens when the bubble bursts for real? I still see CSCO headed in to the low 40s
Recovering $28B is lot of folks jobs.
Ignoring interest and lost opportunity, if Splunk sustained it's last year's earnings of $1B it would only be 28 years to get back to a poor form of zero.
I noticed Cisco's year over year decline in earnings growth of 25.5% this last quarter which now has Splunk's earnings included. Is Splunk still bringing in a billion a year in earnings and the rest of Cisco is failing even faster or is Cisco driving Splunk into the ground as well? Enquiring minds want to know!

R2G2 omg that’s hilarious 😂 😂 😂
So they're giving it the AppDynamics treatment already? $24B write off then. Who was the f---wit who pushed for this acquisition again? R2G2?
Can’t back out of the deal at this point so have to cut costs to minimize damage.
Doesn’t make sense to gut engineering ahead of earnings which is in 2 weeks.
Is it just splunk eng? Any other depts?
its confirmed by my director that splunk eng will be gutted next week
because you are a liar
