Thread regarding IBM layoffs

Progress Not Perfection OMG

God if I hear another IBM person spout that nonsense of failure and giving up! Did Steve Jobs give us half hearted "progress junk"? NO! He was passionate about being the best of the best when MP3 players where everywhere and the iPod came out with the spin dial and BO-M the rest is history with iPhone. EVERY time you see ARVIND or Smarmy Rob Thomas they spout this amateur hour drivel. It means we at IBM are "led by" people who have been promoted for all the wrong reasons and know very little but think we are the smartest people on the planet. We stopped making things and now just buy the fruits from other companies. IBM can just put junk out in the market (watsonx) and yell from the highest hills it is the best when clearly it is junk. Did Elon Musk deliver "meh it is progress" for the best EV cars on the planet? Quality used to matter at IBM but no more! IBM USED to be up there in quality and perfection with Sony, Honda, Toyota, Nvidia etc. IBM actually knocked it out of the park with ThinkPad in 1992. AMAZING!!!!! I was there in Boca when they literally took the covers off. Blown away how far advanced it was than any other laptop and it allowed IBM then Lenovo (boo!!!!!!!!!!!) to sell billions of dollars of laptops for decades...Then once again...wait....Apple MAC...QUALITY MATTERS! Progress is code for we have given up and know it....

Guess the Ex-Lax isn't working any more. How about some generous ex-IBMer donating some Bluepoints buy the constipated Alvind and Krabanaugh a couple of bottles of "Milk Of Magnesia" or similar?
Or failing that, arranging to give both of them an en--a ?

TOO FUNNY! Looks like "Progress not Perfection" is from AA Alcoholics Anonymous. Addiction to alcohol and every dr-g is insidious. But C'Mon IBM! Now you are following what AA does?!

Kind of reminds me of the James Bond novel Goldfinger and the famous saying:

  1. Once is happenstance. The first time something occurs, it's likely just an isolated incident, a fluke.
  1. Twice is coincidence. The second time it happens, it's still possibly random, but it's worth taking note of.
  1. Three times is enemy action. When something happens a third time, it's likely not random anymore. It suggests a deliberate pattern, possibly even malicious intent.

I get that a lot of people love Indian food, and that’s cool—but for me, it’s just too heavy on the spices. It feels like every single spice in the cabinet gets thrown in at once.

Yes, you are spot on. Currently, the company has the wrong leaders who have pretty much pushed out all the folks who drove innovation, quality and growth. The IBM leadership just talks endlessly on the business channels about all these things but achieves nothing. The IBM innovators have been replaced by a bunch of pencil pushers, who have nothing to show but mediocre products bought from other companies and rebranded with the IBM name. It is a recipe for disaster and certainly not a winner in the marketplace. IBM is nothing more than a garbage truck driven by an assortments of crooks and thieves - Alvind, Rob the Slob, Krabanaugh and the Pipmunks - who are just into peddling junk.
