All about money. When me and Unix SA were RA the India Wintel lead my peer at the time told me how much he made yearly. Brought up google currency converter. He was making equivalent 12,500 yearly. Where I was making 95k and the Unix sys admin was making 110k yearly. They are able to hire 15 or so people in India and have change leftover

@ef You are close, but IBM will always have NA employees Why???

  1. Because you need a face to face sales force for enterprise customers
  2. Because you need a face to face service organization to support the on site IBM products
  3. Because you will always have innovation SW purchases in the works, and they are mostly staffed in local countries. NOTE they will slowly be outsourced to India as time moves on.
  4. IBM corporate will always be in NA as they like the USA tax structure
  5. Certain labs, and manufacturing plants make sense to stay in the US due to the investment in infrastructure (eg POK, Watson labs, Austin, RTP)

NET NET 10-12% of IBM worldwide employee total will always be in NA NOTE the NA headcount will shrink as IBM’s worldwide workforce shrinks (eg 4-6% per year)
IBM’s announced strategy is “enterprise only face to face engagements” (think Fortune 500). Everything else goes to the partners or gets spun/partnered off

The future of IBM is 0 employees in US, Canada, Western Europe.
80% of employees will be in India.
20% will be in low cost nearshore locations like LatAm (Mexico, Brazil, Costa Rica), Eastern Europe, SE Asia (Vietnam, Philippines)
Over time, even the 20% will reduce and move roles to India.

Alvind has no loyalty to this country . All he cares about are his investors and being a simp for India

AI means All India

Immigrants showed appreciation for this country before 1965

India was a third world country up until a few decades ago. You’d think Alvind would appreciate being in this country

That’s 300 openings on the IBM website, but when you look at GOM there are as of today only 7 internal US postings and only 145 globally.

You’re being an obnoxious A Hole when generalizing all Americans as being lazy

Of course there are the lazy ones but we are one of the only countries that if you’re not a Doctor or Cop you’re on call especially with IBM

Many of you have gotten the weekend call or slacks as well as off hours too

Americas rate of production of its workers have gone up over the past 20 years

Choose your words wisely

@cs

Is that why it takes 6 Indian engineers to complete an engineering job in a week that a single American engineer completes in a day ? Is that why Alvind and the Pipmunks continue to favor DEI garbage and BS ? It should be pay for performance, not pay for cheap and questionable quality from those in Alvind's home country. The IBM juggernaut has gone off the rails and it is overdue to be sent to it's grave. But all in good time and after Alvind collects his $100 million bonus in 2025.

Indians work hard, much harder than most Americans. And yes, I am an American. This country is an idiocracy. Wake up you losers and get back to work!

To be or not to be, depends on the Indians.
Great strategy to ruin IBM.

Who the he-l cares how many jobs are available in So--m and Gomorrah USA; We have a name for that country: He-l Bound. (Picture that with country music and pastoral pictures.) Look... you have a Fuhrer who is desperately in need of therapy. Even the Chinese sinensis is a better gator than Donald the mississippiensis. You need to confront the fact that you elected a psychopath with no understanding of your new place in the world nor economics. How does this relate to the OP? Simple: it's this insane notion that somehow through "manifest destiny" or "American exceptionalism," y'all are entitled to something here. Well, you're not. F-A-F-O: y'all want to break the way the world has world has worked for 80 to 100 years, bad stuff will happen and some of y'all will be looking for the social safety net that you don't have but everyone else does!

What skills does Krabanaugh have ? If anyone should be replaced by AI It’s f@t lazy overpaid accountants like him

While Alvind is just basically a roadie for shareholders at least he has an engineering background

Krabbynaugh is just a glorified bean counter

Who got 37 million in shares for being a doughy number cruncher

| Get over it. If you have skills, you have no worries.
It's not about skills for the company, it's about lower pay. This is why IBM is so fragmented as a company. People think that a business is just numbers. Why not just replace all of us with AI then lol if you think business is just about numbers and not providing a good service

According to AK, it’s the AI (All India) implementation that the board has ordered to save the company
