Thread regarding Occidental Petroleum Corp. layoffs

Lying Vicki...no surprise

Saving the earth with Direct Air Capture or putting unmarked bills into Trump's gooey pockets at Mar-a-Lago, which way is the wind blowing today Vicki? No integrity.

"...Other attendees came from companies including Chevron, Continental Resources, Exxon and Occidental Petroleum, according to an attendance list obtained by The Post...."

I would not be so hard on Vicki. She has the best interest of Oxy at heart, and needs to be in the same room as other major players in the oil and gas industry. The current admin is against oil and gas, and many of us have made a good living in the industry. Whatever can be done to keep the industry alive and moving forward I will support. Vicki has tried to keep us going forward while also addressing the social concerns of many. She is a much better CEO than some of the ones at the majors, and a real step up from the CEO that sold Anadarko down the river. If you work for Oxy there is not that much to complain about unless you are just looking to complain. Just go read the Exxon layoff board and see how much they complain about their CEO and treatment of employees. When was the last time Oxy treated the rank and file employees like Exxon does with pips to get rid of employees yearly.

Any time Oxy people are in the same meeting with a competitor and the subject of manipulating oil prices is even mentioned the Oxy reps are required by policy to leave the meeting if the conversation cannot be redirected. Otherwise it could potentially be a violation of FTC antitrust regulations. Look it up.

Explain your collusion concern, son.

Why would Oxy go anywhere near the Donald Trump meeting in Florida without him first being president? This was a stupid move and should be investigated by the FTC and SEC as possible collusion. Executives and companies get in big time trouble for this type of behavior. At issue is determining whether there was talk about oil prices, operating costs, or oil supply with or without Trump. Let’s hope that this is taken in front of a congressional hearing to find out exactly what was discussed and promised. Shame, shame, shame on Oxy lawyers for not steering the company away from this.

Keeping the current administration is the way to solve the problem.

I think that DAC and all is just in place to please the current admin. It will all go away once a new admin comes in that backs oil and gas. This is all about getting money from the govt and the likes of Blackrock and Bill Gates. Just like DEI the support for DAC will slowly go away. It is just a shame so much of our tax dollars are going into something that will go away.

Oil is dead. There is so much oversupply in the world that the “drill baby drill” approach will hammer oil prices. Getting into DAC, EV technologies, and lithium mining and recycling is smart for oil companies to do.

Oil and gas company? Hilarious. You're Oxy and that's its own level of degeneracy.

Going to Mar-a-Lago is reaching pretty low.

Are we not an oil & gas company? Is DAC paying the bills? Or is oil & gas and chemicals business?

Love it. The inflation reduction act was a bad joke and should be repealed.
