Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Forget the Axe... forget the Musk Chainsaw... it's going to be Massacre

Once TSMC gains 100% manufacturing decision making at IFS, and installs Asian headcount and productivity metrics... it's not going to be pow-pow!... but brrraaaat machine g-n. Fully expect that over 50% of IFS blue badges will be gone within 12-18 months. Some will get converted to green badge... others will be converted to no badges.

@cp+1jqywhavz Are you a VP in IFS Finance? One would think APU would be a good metric... but you know what, Profit Per Employee is prob better measure. So what is that metric vs TSMC? * Crickets *

@cq+1jqywhavz So you are just going to stick your head in the sand and think TSMC is going to flush their time and money down the IFS toilet? OK, got it. Either TSMC is going to make Intel Great Again by firing 50%-66% of IFS for a legit turnaround... or they'll just pretend to fix IFS, and let it fail so they can have 100% of the market (prob much more likely). There isn't any middle ground... and all paths lead to IFS feeling da pain.

With only 20% ownership I doubt TSMC will have much of a leverage on IFS - so just chilax and focus on what you are supposed to do - make intel great again.

Note that revenues per employee figures for Intel and TSMC are very similar.

Good. Foundry had 10 years to catch up with process. Pat gave them a golden credit card with no limit. 4 years later, still no wins. They should fire them all and rehire only those who are assessed to be qualified by people who know how to run fabs.
Oh, and fire 50% of ppl in product starting from those who have "pm" "strategist" and other bs roles. Yes SY, looking at your bloated good for nothing "strategy" org.

Look at the attrition of Americans in Fab21 and figures most were newbies that were still goggle eyes over the big paycheck. Then look at all the experienced folks that left.

They bring in the team at Fab21 it will be "Hasta la vista"

TSMC never axes people. 70% of TSMC paycheck is bonus. They can take away the bonus anytime based on whole company, department or individual performance. Everyone is welcome to keep working with 30% compensation. They know people will leave by themselves if only receive base pay which is 30% of expecting income.

Someone call the President and see if Intel can borrow Elon for a while as acting head of HR.

That would be awesome.

IFS will become a real foundry once it is restructured, and no longer be a bespoke IDM can of worms.

Also, there are currently somewhere around 1000 labs, which exploded as the comapny tried to make products for all market sectors and niches. That's where a lot of the R&D waste is located and it will feel the wrath of LBT.

He is not doing anything, anything, that ELT and the Board didn't know needed to be done. This is the difference between leadership and being a corporate grifter.

Foundry has been told for at least the past decade that it needed to make changes to be competitive on cost with TSMC and other foundries. This was routinely ignored by Ann and the top fab management, still clinging to being a bespoke IDM fab.

Hopefully they will all, every single one of them, be flushed out in the coming months.
