Hp Inc stock hits 52-week low at $21.20

"HP Inc’s stock has reached a 52-week low, hitting $21.20, marking a significant point in its trading history. This decline reflects a broader downward trend for the company, as HP Inc has experienced a substantial decrease of 36.53% over the past year. The technology giant has faced various challenges in the market, which have contributed to this notable drop in its stock value. Investors are closely watching to see how HP Inc will navigate these difficulties and whether it can rebound from this low point."

Yes, keep laying off your best and most innovative employees and keep hoping that everyone buys your "HP Invent" mantra.

@10w my point was that there was no good news to communicate. It is safe for hp to announce layoffs now since many in tech are doing the same. Better to get lost in the crowd now and indicate something is being done to address poor financials.

Hahahah future ready… what are those stooodgues still doing in the company? Future not ready after 4 years also. Still endless parties, expensive ones in UK, Nordic ,US. How do they even justify those UK and Nordic super-high salaries when they bring little to none profit?
Oh I forgot, posts on LinkedIn are very profitable....

@106 Have you counted or do you know how many HP people were layed off last year? I doubt that this information is public. Any future lay-offs can be easily communicated as part of the original intention.
At least you don’t make whole company and your stock price look like a lame duck.

HP has a good opportunity to address rising memory chip costs: use Linux, many distributions of Linux is agnostic to your hardware and will be optimized to your configuration. Sure this might pi-s off Microsoft but they need to help with this situation as well because PC sales directly impacts them, too.

@mt what were their options to communicate? What is worse, job cuts or poor strategic planning regarding memory prices? The firing needs to go higher up the chain than corporate communications.

@cn

If that’s true then I wonder if they might revisit that plan for Xerox to buy the print business. Remember that nonsense happening before Covid? HP is probably regretting that decision of turning them down.

But back to OP topic. I am pretty confident that HP’s stock is going to slip even further. We have yet to see the ramifications of the memory chip debacle on their quarterly earnings announcements.

HP already has horrendous profit margins so their only option is to increase prices which will maintain the bad margins and also decrease revenue. Quite a predicament.

Enrique is a nice guy but he should fire the Corporate communications person. All the markets heard from the annual results was more job cuts! That was an unnecessary message and overshadowed everything else!!

Let's see how long until they split the company and it is acquired by competitors.

You are just an arrogant and ignorant buffoon compared to everyone else on this site. You take things out of your fat behind, make things up as you go along, and never admit your mistakes every time people call you on them.

And you call yourself "royalty" because you are delusional. You don't sound like royalty and certainly don't act like one.

"It’s called accounting for stock splits you d-mb bafoon."

You have no education in HP IPO history or stock split. I was there in 2015 when it split last. Unless you have worked for HP for a very long time or your parents left you some stock, you have not benefited from stock splits to combat inflation.

As the OP mentioned, the stock IPO was in 1959 at $16, which used to be a lot of money at the time (burgers were 15-25 cents). You can't look at stock price nominally, which is what you are doing and very superficial.

You A-hole, you did not mention stock splits in your original post, so F off.

Second, not everyone bought HP stock back in 1959, so you have not benefitted from the 8 stock splits. If you bought in the last two years you have lost money.

What a LOOSER.

Rumours swirling around the co about CEO changes and spinning off the company print and PC. COVID and AI craze bought the co some hope that print is here to stay and with AI PC to revitalize the co. But they end up wasting the resources in share buy back and div increase without re-injecting resources to beef up or reinvent. Nothing can save them now.

"The stock is still worth 20 times it’s ipo and no where near its all time low."

Are you really that clueless, or trying to embarrass yourself in front of everyone on this site?
HP IPO was in 1957, with shares priced at $16. The stock at $21 today is much lower than $16 in 1957 in terms of purchasing power. And $21 today is not "20 times it’s ipo" of 16 dollars as your mathematically challenged mind claims.
