Thread regarding Gainwell Technologies layoffs

Outsourcing should be illegal

Or let me rephrase that. If jobs can be filled by American workers, then those jobs should not be outsourceable. Period. Laying off hard-working Americans to send those jobs overseas is unconscionable and should be completely taken off the table as a possibility. Companies that do this should be fined so much that they never consider doing it again.

“Zen-Is-A-Pinhead”

What data are you looking at? Layoffs are happening at an alarming rate. On top of that the CEO told you in the town hall that offshoring is going to increase by at least 2,000.

It sure is coming to fruition.

We are just lucky that Gainwell is inefficient and can’t hire offshore faster. That’s the only thing slowing down the US layoffs. But they are happening pretty much on a weekly basis.

I personally don’t care who is right and who is not. But I think it’s obvious that a significant portion of the workforce has been laid off in the US and replaced offshore. And it looks like it’s going to continue. It would seem that it is going to be more than that 40%. It’s all been delayed because of internal red tape.

You can choose to think that it’s because of people playing mind games. But your CEO has told you otherwise. Choosing not to believe it is keeping your head in the sand.

No. Zen is not right.

No. It’s NOT all coming to fruition.

First they said the layoffs would be Dec…then Jan, then Mar…now it’s Summer. There’s just a lot of BS dorks ere who get off scaring everyone for some odd psychological reason.

“Outsourcing should be illegal”

If you don’t like living in a free country with free enterprise then you should move to one of those overseas countries that get some of those American jobs.

Looks like Zen was right about 40% or more being laid off.

And no one would believe it. But now it’s all coming to fruition.

It’s too bad really. But Gainwell just can’t have good leadership and integrity. They choose to operate unethically and illegally.

Confirmed 22-25% to be laid off this summer - 12-15% through performance ratings and remaining ~10% through offshoring to Phillipines (mostly BPS call center relocation).

Prepare to do more work as fewer old timers will be left behind.

There is an offshore contracting team being prepared to take over for an onshore team. Someone accidentally shared the name of one of the offshore contractors. When I looked this person up, their profile says they are in VA, FL or another US location. I looked up others in this person’s department. Oddly enough, the profiles say they are based in the US, but I had access to other info that confirmed they were in India. Since I haven’t found another job yet, I can’t tell anything more.

Don’t the overseas profiles say that?

By hiding the true location of where the person is located. If teams says they are in VA or FL or wherever, would you question it?

Medicaid clients are demanding cost cutting year after year as costs are off the roof! Low cost centers do not have enough qualified locals.
Also, old timers continue to earn more each year due to raises and systems deteriorates and costs more every year.
Constant demand to do more for less - only way out corporations is to find cheaper resources to help clients, leading to outsourcing!

many medicaid clients require the use of local labor and do not allow outsourcing. how will gainwell management get around that?

You clearly slept through Economics 101, and have no idea how closed countries fare (hint: Very poorly). While I do not work at Gainwell, I hope most people there are better-educated than you.
