Are you thinking about sticking around, or are you already working on an exit plan from the company? Just curious—my husband and I both worked at Intel until last year (we’re in Oregon, by the way), so we’ve been through a bit of what you’re probably feeling right now.
He has been there longer, and while neither of us were impacted by last year’s layoffs, we made the call that it would be best if one of us left and the other stayed a bit longer for the benefits. I left in mid-December and went back into health care management. Now the plan is for him to leave soon too—whether he makes it through this round or not.
I know it might sound kind of awful, but we’re honestly hoping he is laid off sooner rather than later. We’d love to enjoy the rest of the summer, and since we don’t have kids, major debt, or a ton of responsibilities right now, it feels like the right time. We just want to be done with this heavy cloud that’s been hanging over everyone.
Of course, everyone’s situation is different, but I’ve been really curious what others are thinking, especially with these cuts showing no sign of slowing down.
