Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Paid Department Picnic

Our department just got the email for the summer picnic and I'm so disappointed they want us to pay for it. Ford is so downhill they need us GSRs to pay our own way for a company lunch. I don't know if Ford is always like this but every other place I worked these events were funded solely by the company.

The typical angry, racist, misogynistic, white dude, walking and talking stereotypes on this site serve a purpose. When they are posting there are no layoffs in the near future. When the layoff is near they are too busy hiding to post.

I'd be curious to know the monthly budget most of the posters on this forum spend for online webcam women.

I bet it would blow our minds.

This crew is the typical angry, racist, misogynistic, white dude, walking and talking stereotypes.

If you're a woman don't go anywhere, it's not safe. Just stay home and webcam for tips.

What you do is not pay, then crash. I've done this multiple times. Also, diaper disappear. After a 1/2 hour. No one goes back to work after these things.

I agree with @1sxx+1t77vAGx

The most dangerous thing in the world for women is men. Not cancer. Not other disease. Not car accidents.

The thing that injury or ki-ls women the most is men.

Don't go to the picnics. The men workers at Ford are going to be very inappropriate!

Ours have never been paid for , always self pay or pot luck with a million bees at a free park. I stopped going about ten years in if it was outside with the yellow jackets. We’ll see what they propose this year..

Don't go. I don't go to any events I have to pay into.

This is a multi-billion dollar company. I'm not going to pay for their team building events.

This place used to be like a second family, a couple of decades ago.

many many many years ago, our team at a plant in S/E Michigan would do team lunches. Bossw
would pick up pizzas from a local chain and we pitch in a few bucks.

after a few , i got tired of just pizza so id make a batch of venison chili or some wings, which everyone always praised.

the last time i participated in one of these lunches, i brought in a double batch if chili, and the boss asked me to pony up for the pizza. i handed him the money and never went to a team lunch again.

that was in the mid 2000s so its par for the course.

steve, if youre out there reading this, KMA.

The money spent on DF and his model E team would have been much better spent lobbying the government and supporting candidates in Michigan that don't go along with California Green mandates.

@mna+1t77vAGx "Now us UAWs are making over 80 grand a year - without college degrees!! Come join us!"

Those of us with college degrees are making 150K+/year working 40 hours hours a week in an air conditioned office or occasionally at home. Come join US!

Shawn Fain is very pleased with you "UAW folks", the problem is more of your jobs are going to LCC assy. plants. Shawn Fain will always have a job though and it won't be on the line.

I agree. It's a bad idea to arrange outings with coworkers outside the workplace.

The men are always inappropriate with the women.

I understand why most women are afraid of most men, now.

I don't enjoy company events because there always seems to be at least one id--t that seems to forget we've gotta continue working together the next day, and proceeds to do something stupid that pi---s everyone off. Example: Four of us playing on the green of a par 3 at a company golf outing. Even if we were finished, we couldn't go anywhere because the next group ahead of us is still waiting to tee off. That's when one of our id--t co-workers, or "team members" as management likes to refer to them, tee's off and nearly hits one of us standing on the green. Again, this is a par 3. THIS is what I want to enjoy when I participate in a company outing? No thanks. I'll stick to work and personal relationships I establish and maintain on my own.

Hey Mr. UAW, some of us worked along side you. Not all the white collar workers work in Dearborn. Some of us work at the plant level too.

It's been like this for the 10 years I've been here. "Company event! All invited! Go to so-and-so and give them your $20!"

I stopped attending them. Work is work. I didn't fraternize with coworkers. We aren't family. Family is family. Work is work.

no. it wasn't always like this... this is the startup culture that the model e team is looking for.. cut throat, lie cheat steal, blame everyone else for their own failures.

You should be thanking us UAW folks!

We didn't get to stay home when all of you checked out of the office for the plandemic.

You all have been working on your homes and an occasional PowerPoint while we were building the top quality vehicles that keep this company in business.

Your jobs are on their way to foreign countries because you showed them that the work could be done remotely.

Now us UAWs are making over 80 grand a year - without college degrees!!

Come join us!
