Intel 7 is our latest HVM node, while TSMC is entering HVM on 2nm.

Intel Fabs are at least 1.5 generations behind.

Imagine if a customer comes to us and asks us to make a chip and we give a chip that is 3.5 times bigger in dimensions than what TSMC can make. Or > 12x larger in area.

Simply, Fabs aren't worth the real estate they are on.

@ce This site is polluted with trolls who are for TSMC, NVDA, AMD and likely anything from China, and think they are somehow making a difference blasting boards like this one.

Also, INTC is for the moment a meme stock, so brings out the crazy-stupid.

If someone wants to own the stock or work for the company, that is not affected by trolls, but then they are not known for being smart.

Not TSMC troll. Doubt anyone at TSMC would waste time posting here. More likely to be one of the thousands of people fired by Intel in the past.

Lunar lake release was 6 months after Meteor lake. Lunar lake essentially helped Intel bury the bad news about Intel 3.

Do Intel 3&4 qualify as HVM?. I keep hearing stories about low yields.

I don't believe OP isn't the TSMC Troll.

Intel’s product naming conventions are even lame and non-sensical.

Why would you expect a customer to know or care what random-@ss version of Rapids or Lake is going to be late and defective? If it’s on Intel, it’s gonna su-k.

The Intel chip in Meteor Lake is Intel 4 in Fab 24 in Ireland but you can still buy Intel 7 in Staples. Also an informal polling of local stores says MTL is at least pushed more than LNL.

OP, you are just now figuring out how bad Intel's is doing? Stop listening to the stories of taking the world by storm with the next release of whatever that management is always telling everyone. Revenue, margins, and market share have all been falling for years, yes years... When was the last time that Intel actually released anything that was truly revolutionary and made a difference to the bottom line?
